How much longer before ServiceLink is owned by Corelogic? Isn't this subject more qualified for Springer?

Its addressed in Fannie/Freddie's pre-printed certification (#21). The client is free to distribute the report to "...data collection or reporting services."

Anytime you've signed a 1004 report, you've acknowledged that.

So, if you work for Corelogic as an appraiser, and you use their software, and the client agrees to let Corelogic use the data, that's compliant with the USPAP and the signed certification (as it exists today).

The important part of your post "if the client agrees"....

Corelogic owns AppraisalPort. So my one Client that uses AppraisalPort agrees...may not know or completely understands....Facebook?
Same for Mercury...they own that one too.

Now....
The majority of MY clients have nothing to do with Corelogic. I upload my reports to their own portal and they send it to Fannie Mae.

So is alamode going to share my reports to Corelogic without my clients permission? That is the question.

Exactly. Why I careth not what they do - be it surreptitiously or on the up and up - the former being at their own peril.

Here are the answers to most of your questions.

It is clear that Fannie Mae is going to change their forms. The old dinosaur 1004 form is dying and I agree. I just wish Fannie Mae would let appraisers upload the reports directly to Fannie Mae so that other cannot have access to the data. Is Fannie Mae or the lenders making any money or getting paid by Corelogic for this data? Then why share it....I know I am paying a $14 and $24 upload fee to Mercury and Appraisalport. Makes me wonder who the dumbass here is? Me!!! Brillant on Corelogic!! They buy Appraisalport, the appraiser or lender pays the upload fee, and Corelogic gets free data!!

As noted in the PDF, Centralized and big data is what the forms are going too. Since Fannie is changing their forms, I think Corelogic realized this, and thought this is our chance to develop the form to our liking and to meet their business model.

In almost every news source, article, etc. you have the same names... These are the players that are making the choices.

You still have to wonder why Corelogic purchased http://www.columbiainstitute.org/ ???? Anyone got an answer that one? My thought on this one was to water down the appraisal education requirements so that they can have staff appraisers, and in time the IFA would just disappear.

Elizabeth Warren is a moron who has played the system her whole life.

Oh, I understand that she's "strange" but my point was that she makes enough noise and brings things to the forefront.

Actually got through all 12 pages of posts! Great information & attitude! Guess I should have gone to work for Corelogic when they offered. Do keep posting, the climate has been changing since the HVCC & the heavy storms moved in with the FREAKS (D&F). WOW back in the day 1985 other than the costs to the photo lab, times were great! Get to the office early and grab 10 or so all on the same side of town, stay up, have a PJ appraiser party writing reports, and chatting about real estate, ethics,.. I learned sooo much! Really fun back then. Guess with all this doom & gloom, I needed a moment ...in the cloud...

The overall push is to drive everything into the cloud...where the data can be compromised and you sucked dry. Period.

I've never believed that appraising is a dying "sport" but this suggests the changes in residential valuation will not be recognizable in another 10 years or so. It will all be in the cloud, you will still be the one with the license to be held accountable, but the rest will be "automated" and you merely sign off on it, or suffer zero work.

Many AMC's are already asking if I want to do desktop appraisals......Hell NO!!

Watch. Pretty soon they will be sending out bids on these 30 minutes to complete $50 products as well.
