so corelogic owns:

the AMC that sends you orders
the software you use to research your subject
the software you use to search comps
the software you use to perform the cost approach
the software you use to complete the report
the platform you use to send it in

all your appraisals are belong to us

Been with alamode for over 27 years.
My loyalty has just expired.
Anybody have any other suggestions for a good software company?
I'm searching.
My thoughts exactly. 20 years in and the thought of giving Corelogic any business when they have been so horrible to appraisers. This is most likely my tipping point. Bradford you say??

From what I can tell on the internet today is that the appraisal profession is over, we should all go find another job.

Why would a company spend millions to buy a software company exclusively used by appraisers and attempt to get rid of appraisers? That makes no sense.

They are in the data business and they need appraisers to keep that data fresh and new.

The sky is not falling folks.

Yeah I always thought I would go Bradford if I ever switched. Hell, I have one foot out the door anyway this just makes me feel better about the steps I am taking. Anybody looking for a 45-year-old newly minted finance MBA who is a former real estate appraiser??? D'oh!!!!

In the 70's, if you were in college, you studied about vertical and horizontal monopolies in economics classes and how they could price fix. CoreLogic is the classic vertical monopoly. No one prosecutes vertical monpolies these days, the FBI/DOJ is more into texting girlfriends, leaking memos, looking the other way and breaking into attorney's offices.

MCG, are you sitting down???

OMG, I agree with your optimistic point of view....:)
And it's way past April 1st....
But I do agree with others that future cost of doing business may adversely impact us....

Haven't you described AVM?

No need to own appraisal software...

CONTROL!! That's what lenders always hated about appraisers. They could never control us. We had our fees and our way of doing things and they had to submit or else, because they had to get an appraisal. Control the appraisal software and control the appraiser. Control the data and every means the appraiser gets his money and business and you control the appraiser. Now Corelogic and redesign the software to make every box some kind of UAD data collector and/or whatever else they have up their sleeve. Appraisals are costing customers around $550.00 and you are making the same or less than you were 15-20 years ago. How do you think that is? Not just the BS low fee but the software charges that doubled, the alamode website that was free but now if over $500.00 (I think?) the BS upload fee or Tech fee, yeah right Go F... yourself. And they keep raising the fees for all this BS and they are getting it from you the financially poor, low membership = weak, no influence industry that does nothing to protect themselves. I think the appraisal industry has been and probably still is, being run by a bunch dumb wit losers. I'm out a here anyway. Down to 1 appraisal a month and that's only if they pay my fee plus what ever BS fee they try and take out of my check. F...ing Scumbags.

No need to own appraisal software...

no i did not. if there was no need to own appraisal software i kinda doubt corelogic would have purchased alamode...
