What is everyones opinion? Only negative I can see is people charging back the money claiming that they got a bad appraisal etc.

To fill up space due to the minimum letters required....NO

I don't have enough people request credit card payment to make it worthwhile. Isn't there a monthly service fee and per transaction cost for using credit cards? I know some people use Paypal - not sure of any fees associated.

Wade - welcome to the forum! If you use the search feature, you will find this has been discussed several times before.

I like to accept credit cards

I have had a merchant account for about a year now. I no longer accept (non-certified) checks. About 45-50% of my fees are now by CC, usually within 20 minutes of receipt of the order. I have yet to have a single sustained chargeback (including over 5 years with paypal). Bounced and stopped checks have gone from 1-3 a month to none. The monthly fees and transaction costs are minimal compared to my former collection costs chasing bad checks. I'll take all the Long Island/NY Metro CC business I can get.

Mr. Watson,

Paypal has a pretty hefty fee.... A $375 appraisal fee gets almost a $12 Paypal fee to take a credit card... BUT!!!! ;)

I listen to Clark Howard on the radio. Yesterday he announced that Google is trying to get into this credit card internet thing like PayPal and is seeking market share....sooooooooo until the end of this year we can set up a "Paypal" like thing with Google and it has NO fees at all !!!

Yippie! :)

so, sorry, but this just might be my OWN dang misintended position.... but, If the homeowner is charging the appraisal on a Credit card, might there be some Far Far Far, oh so very very farout reason,... for an appraisal to begin with....

FULL moon, and Someone Else Already is responsible for my thinking outside of the 'PlayTool' fit the square in the circle box hammer station... today...

Sorry, sometimes' every thread has to have its own uninvited bedevilment advocate...

i forgot to "WOOF"... and or Coo, i forget
dang it..:rof:

Non credit card PayPal only. Works with funds available or bank transfer.

Is the free service only free for the rest of the year or free for ever if you sign up before the end of the year?

I use paypal virtual terminal for $20 per month plus transaction fee on each. It's better than most of the bank plans I've looked at and is super easy to set up. It's worth it to me, as I don't typically accept "billed" work. With this, if borrowers don't want to pay, you can offer your client the option of paying you with a credit card before you inspect. Some MBs pay out their own pocket. Beats chasing down unpaid fees and/or check bouncers.
