Dissapointed in McKissock

Last year I purchased the ability to take continuing education courses for my Appraisal Re-certification. I was told that I could pay $399 to be able to take as many courses as I wanted to satisfy me continuing education. I took my courses and renewed my license. I just got a bill on my credit card for an additional $399 from McKissock. In calling the company they said that they don't tell clients that it is a continuing automatic billing annually. The agent that initially sold me the ability to take my CE courses didn't mention that this was a continuing billing automatically. This was a very "sleezy" approach to the appraisal community which I am positive will not be well received by other appraisers. Once this approach of automatically billing appraisers for not needed course work starts hitting their credit card, there will be many unhappy appraisers who were duped by this practice.
Ouch, that is good to know. I would have missed that as well.

I just took the USPAP Instructor re-certification. It was 4 hours and cost me $295, plus $150.00 to the AQB and $100.00 to the NCAB. I am in the hole $545.00 before I teach my first class.
And you'll teach two classes before you get your money and expenses back...unless you own the school
