I used to carry around a Rebel size DSLR years ago (still have it). I need something that will fit in my back pocket. No one has ever complained about my appraisal photos using a 23mm +/- wide angle point and shoot. Trust me I would prefer the DSLR results, but too big and awkward for me to hang around my neck with all the other crap I lug around.

Why not just buy a high end phone. I suffered with cheap phones my whole life and bought a S23 and it's changed my life, lol. I also put a lanyard on the case and wear it like you would your old camera.

The Distos have gone down in quality, and the prices keep going up. After my last one died, I bought the same Bosch model T has, and I’m happy with it.

Agreed. My $500 disto broke after 3 years. I called the company and they said that it’s like your iPad, you’ll need to replace it every few years. unreal, I’m done with disto and I bought a Bosch for much less.

the have measurement program for any phone that has lidar, typically iphone. you just take a picture and it tells you the dimension. has anybody here done that.

Didn't even know it existed until your comment so I looked it up and the reviews are not great and the popular ones are a paid subscription and not accurate.

I've had a $90 Bosch for 8 years and it still works great.

I use and like iphones. the iphones I have owned don't have wide angle to any great degree (maybe top end ones do these days). Worst part is getting the pics off the iphone onto a windows desktop computer, not nearly as fast and easy as popping out an SD card and slipping to the computer slot from a regular camera.

This looks interesting. The lens scares me as I am a bit rough on my work cameras and prefer a lens that does not protrude past the body which is probably asking too much if wide angle is needed. Thanks for the tip.

You can get it with a 10mm lens which is shorter.

I drop my Disto 2-3 times a week and it keeps going. If you think about it, three years is good use, much like a cell phone. I have used both Bosche and Disto and prefer the Disto.

Agree, I love my Disto. It has been solid.
