Do you have an appraisal website that generates any order for you?

Let's not forget that Google searchers are sometimes sent here to appraisersforum.com. For instance, last week I got a call from a broker wanting an equestrian center appraised, and in her google search, she came upon this forum's thread on equestrian centers. She seems to have contacted everyone who participated in that thread.

If you search Ocala Appraisal on Google my website is "above the fold" and is the first non pay site other than the county property appraiser's site. The site has a market trends page that now has over 1,800 subscribers. And yes, I get quite a bit of work from it.

I googled you and got your web site just as you said.

If you google; Charlotte Appraisal or Charlotte Appraiser (return my favor, Please) then we both get hits and helps our overall ranking.

These are mine:

www.CharlotteAppraisals.com

www.CharlotteAppraiser.net

You will see I have two web sites. There is a reason I have two and its because I intend some day to have a Charlotte Appraiser Directory for a annual fee.

I chose the web address based on search engines. That idea seems to be working.

What is your website URL? Of course if you search on goggle for your website’s name or your URL, you will get your website on the first page at the top but people who are looking for appraisers don’t know your website’s name or your URL and are not going to search for your website’s name. They search on goggle for the service that they need and if you offer that service on your website and have a good ranking, you should be the first one that they see. For example if your website says that you do FHA appraisal and someone search on goggle for FHA appraiser, your website should be on the first page if you have a good ranking.

Moh,

Yes, thats true about search engines. Since no one knows you then searching for an appraiser by just using your last name will produce nothing.

If you search for me and just use Charlotte or north Carolina or both you still wont find me.

If you search for an appraiser then you get the whole nation. If you search for a North carolina appraiser you still get a large list but at least its mcuch smaller.

Narrow it further to Charlotte Appraiser or Appraiser Charlotte you get a much smaller list and thats when I show up on the first page. People who have a higher page position are paying big bucks to be there. I pay less then a thousand dollars a year for both web sites.

Its more about the domaine name then many realize.

To use your last name or your whole name as a domaine is good for your ego, but little else.

All website have to have a domain name. A domain name is a registered name of the website and cannot be a duplicate. A domain name is also called URL or web address and all of them end with .com,.net, .org, .biz, .gov or .edu.
When you have a website, a web address and a host for your website, then your website is in the internet or word wide web and if I search in goggle, yahoo, MSN or any search engine for your web address or your URL, I should see your website on the screen if your website has been indexed by one of the search engines because I am calling specifically on your web address. If I don’t see it, then there is something wrong either your host is off, the root of your website is down or someone is working on it or I am typing a wrong web address.
Your website has been saved somewhere in your computer when it was made but the root of your website is saved in the host computer which has to be on 7/24 all the times because it has to be available to outside word at anytime. That is why if your computer is off or down or even broken, your website is still available through your host computer to everyone.
Your website has two faces, a visible face that you see it on the screen and the invisible face that is behind the scene.
When the search engine crawler visits your website, it goes to the invisible part of your website which is called html because most of it consists of html codes and tags.
Html page has two parts: head and body. Head has the most important part of your website such is title, description meta tags and keyword meta tags of your website.
Body contains the content of your website which shows on the visible page on your site. You never see anything from the head part of your site on the visible side and if you ever had access to HTML of your website, don’t mess with anything in the head section because it belongs to search engine crawlers.
The search crawler looks for the relevancy between whatever is in the head section and whatever in the body section of your website.
If the title of your website which is on the top of the head says that you do appraisal but the body of your website says that you do fishing, then there is no relevancy and you won’t get any ranking. Nobody can find you unless they search for your web address on the search engine because your site still exist in the web but it is not searchable based on what you have in the head and body section of your website.
That is enough technical. I may have confused you already.

Hey Moh, wow you really know a lot of stuff.

All I can say is my web sites work and work very well. Something is being done right.

Moh, my website is www.ocalaappraisals.com. Search for Ocala and appraisal or appraisals and my site will be near the top. I chose that site specifically for search engines and it has worked well so far.

Your website looks good. The title of your website is <Ocala valuation services/>. the meta description of your website are those bolded items that you are specialized and they are also the contend of your website.
Because the title of your website is Ocala valuation services and the Url of your website is ocalaappraisal.com, then if I search for ocal appraisal or ocala valuation, I will see your website on the first page. This is natural. How about if I search for "commercial appaiser in Ocala or marion county or levy county? how about if I search for residential appraiser for those counties? how about if I search for FHA appraier or ERC appraiser or PMI removal or listing or tax appeal appraiser or appraisal in those counties? You should try those things that your website says you are specialized and see if you see your website on the first page. If I were you, I would explain each one of those bolded items that you are specialzed in a separate page and link them to the home page like those linked pages that you have on the top of your home page such as your fee, staff, convering area, market analysis. These are called inbound links because they are linked to the home or main page. You have 11 items listed as you specialty, so you should make 11 linked page each with few paragraphs explaining about each one
for example firs item says that you do commercial and residential. Why don't you explain what kind of commercial you do, how many you have done, how good you are. Just tell your clients what you do. In this way, you open yourself to your potential clients or your website visitors. That is what google likes. It likes openness, transparancy and clarity. It does not like visitors to get confused, mislead or cheated. A website can have unlimited inbound pages. You just linked them all to your home page and make a site map like the one that you have at the top of you home page.
My website URL is activeappraisals.com. My website says that I do divorce appraisal, FHA appraisal and PMI removal appraisals. If you search on the google and type only 2 words "divorce appraiser" or "divorce appraisal", you will possibly see my websit somewhere on the first page. This is for the whole world wide Web. but if you search "divorce appraiser in orange county, CA", then it is very specific and I am definitely on the first page at the top. The same thing with FHA and PMI removal and you will see similar results.
