Hey thanks everyone...I didnt mean to start a fight!

It would not matter what your question was, so its not your fault. Some people on this site like to debate rather than help out with an suggestion or answer to a question.

I will open the cover on the electric panel for FHA. I see a lot of circuit breaker switches. Do they look new, old, good, bad, indifferent.
Exposed or frayed wires, cracked plastic, missing covers? Wire from the pole coming loose, falling down?

Usually the answer is no, looks fine. Take a pic, call it good.
If not, take a pic, and call for inspection.

Hint, give a knock on the door before you open.
If you hear angry buzzing, leave bees alone.
I think I have assaulted this deceased horse enough. :leeann2:

From a functional standpoint, the glass fuses are better than modern circuit breakers. At least you don't have nuisance trips. I would be more worried about old Zinsco panels than glass fuses. The same for the old knob and tube wiring. The only problem is the asbestos insulation. Otherwise it is superior to romex. Many houses from the 1930s have 30 amp, 120v services which I would consider inadequate. Going all the way to 200 amps is probably overkill.
