Global Economy Bursting?

That's why I am refusing to invest further in real estate. I don't want in anything that is not easily liquidated. So many people ran with the RE bubble but couldn't get out because it was not, and, in some areas, is still not liquid. If I can't liquidate it in 2 days, max, I'm not in it anymore except for homes I've had for over 10 years and well on the upside on.

Ahhh... at last, a post that says maybe the bottom in Real Estate is in, or nearby.
You want to invest in ________???
Why would anyone want to buy ________??
It's only when the majority won't go near a particular investment that you know.......

Just because everyone stays away from the local winch because it's a foregone conclusion that she is disease ridden doesn't necessarily mean it's time to try your luck.

I tell you what .....

... I'll be the first to change my opinion about economics, mathematics and all of my general knowledge of history ...

.... when someone, somewhere, anytime ... produces a rationale that convinces me that the world as I see it ... is mistaken ....

.... that day has not come ..yet ..

... I see the world going back to barter ....

... I see the underlying system of economics going towards a black market .. which is a "market driven" economy ...

... I see the day when people use scales ..... that are not digital (because of batteries)

.... I see the day when folks have to once again .... work for thier own food ...

... since I was born (1962) ..... our country has been spending more than it has taken in every year of my short life ....

.... I just believe I understand the tendency of "men/women" (from history books) ...... to seek power at the expense of everything else ... ... and that power has been through accumulated promises .... that have become due .... due to the point of irreconcilable remedy ...

the bottom of the RE market will be long slow digging out. But with corn and soybean prices as high as they are, farmland looks better and in Iowa, MO, etc. -the grain belt, land prices increased substantially last year.

I would not be afraid to invest in RE with CASH... But I know a bunch of people recently who got their notes called in on poultry farms....cold winter, got behind on payments. One grower made FIVE dollars BEFORE the bank payment. His gas bill was equal to the check short 5 bucks... Could not make the payment, the bank called in the note. Six weeks work for $5. wow. I know another who had managed to roll his note for years, no mo'. He filed bankruptcy last month. The bank was pressured by the FDIC to call in such notes and so they did, and they will lose their shirt like you cannot believe....want some cheap farm equipment and old farm pickups and trailers? I know where they are.

once valuations are elevated, investors become increasingly reliant on pure increases in prices and valuations in order to achieve satisfactory returns.
The momentum trade is a sure loser in the long haul. It is like rolling dice double or nothing. Sooner or later.....the result is the same.

I am looking at buying a house on 1 acre .... average condition, 1400 living ... built in 79 for $39 a square foot ....

.... this house would be listed for about 100 a square foot at the top of the market ...

... if I buy it , then I can sell our other house in the city and save $150 a month on utitlity bill ...

... we would be most grateful if we could buy this house and sell the other one .....

.... fortunately I have cash .... no bank ..... finally a place to have a respectable garden ....

... nothing is selling ...... this bank owned property is probably just the first of a tidal wave ...

...if I sell our house ... we could list it for half what others are asking ontheir upside down nightmares ...

David,

It Might Be Wise To Have Soil Test.

I Bought Two Acres Two Years Ago And Am Just Now Getting Part Of It Productive--hard Clay Down About 4 Inches-no Rocks, Looked Wonderful.
