My bid was finally accepted ....

I figure the house to be worth far less next year ..... but I got a home for cash .....

... 1 acre, 1400 sf .... fenced ...... fairly good condition ....... good water ...... good soil ...

... we want to live there for the remaining time we have on this earth. ....

.... I spoke with the realtor handling it ... their MLS system had only 1 sale last month .....

.... my Ma .... told me this morning that Naples, FL has a vacancy rate of 33% for residential homes ...

.... I figure we can pump water with one hand at the homestead and protect ourselves with the other hand .....

.... the local communist radio media keeps coming out with rosey data about real estate stats ....

....

Way To Go David.

Get Some Heirloom Seeds, As The Hybrids Cannot Be Saved For Next Year.

I Just Got Some Hybrid Tomato Seeds Called "florida 91". (7 Cents A Seed).

They Ran Out Last Year.

They Are Supposed To Set Fruit At 90 F.

It Gets Too Hot For Regular Varieties Here In July-august.

There is a commercial on TV for a life time supply of garden seeds, non hybrid. What does this along with some of the above posts suggest of people's expecations for the future? Sounds like old David and Ed are planning for the worse. As soon as I posts this I am off to the orchard, vinyard and garden. Buck shot is on sale so may head that way too. No kidding. Even have my own worm and minow operation with two ponds to fish in. Bring it on, I am ready.

Interesting article about the way economists and the government calculate inflation...and its disconnect with reality

I love the quote.
Someone in the audience astutely asked, "When was the last time, sir, that you went grocery shopping?" The person who spoke up was trying to make Dudley realize that no matter how tasty iPads might be to technophiles, you just can't eat the damn things.
Food and energy are the things everyone buys for daily needs. Most everything else is an optional purchase for any given period of time.
