So now that I am in getting setup and have purchased Alamode and a Disto E7500. I am debating if either going back to the clipboard free hands system or start using the tablet system? I have logically figured that there are both the pros and the cons on both ends.

But would like to hear your POV'S! (y)
Windows 10 or Android tablet?

Welcome back!

I use Alamode, Total. I have the iPad Air 2 Total mobile. I use both a Disto and 100 ft tape.

I am running on a iMac with Windows 7 on Parallels. I can download and upload to the tablet from and to Total on Windows 7.

If nothing else, sketching on the iPad beats a clipboard.

I use the iPad with Siri to dictate voice to text real time my notes. Or, you can use Total audio to record your notes.

Start slow and easy, get comfortable and work you way up the automation ladder.

My goal the last 2 yrs has been to go mobile...hasn't worked out. I still have my 100' tape, manila folder and digital camera... creature of habit

I have been using the Disto, 25ft tape, clipboard hanging on the utility belt for years. It's very efficient for me and used it.

But debating how a tablet will make it easier for me? Tablets are inexpensive and see opportunities with them. Notice that some cameras cost just as much as some tablets on the a bargain.

I use disto, put in left pocket. iPhone for pictures, put in right pocket. Clipboard has shoe string tied to it and pen same, hang around neck.

Use iPhone for GPS/directions.

Only paper I have is sketch. Everything else paperless. Use Dropbox to sync/share pics/files.

All for tech, but tried the iPad thing and way faster/easier just sketching with disto.

You should sketch with total on your phone. You can sketch with one thumb. Sketch with phone in left hand and disto in right hand. It's great.

How good are your eyes? I cannot see a tablet in bright light, period. It is a total waste on me.

I am using my phone. Not a tablet. Tablets are too big. They require 2 hands.

My eyes are bad but good with my glasses :)
