I get mine through my job, I work for the government

Got mine through Michigan Association of Realtors because I belong to the MLS here. It's with BC/BS PPO. It started out being about $350 a month including dental and has gone up to $930 a month including the standard $1,000 a year dental. I had a knee replaced 2.5 years ago and found out how good this insurance is. I've looked around at other policies but this one's coverage is so good I really do not want to give it up. I do have health issues and need the insurance coverage, so every month 3+ appraisal reports are dedicated to my monthly premium. Right now that is tough when my total number of appraisals per month has declined (just like values here). But it's a necessity.

Blue Cross .Saved my *** in a big way.Their premiums are the first paid.

I'm married to a teacher. No dental (good friend is a dentist) and no vision (best friend's wife is an optometrist). If you don't have it, get it. God forbid you need it.

Health Savings Accounts are excellent for those who have to buy their own. It has many tax advantages similar to an IRA account. Okay, okay, it might not help much this year, because one actually needs an income to take advantage of the tax benefits, but normally the write offs pay 1/3 to 1/2 the freight (depending on your bracket and state taxes).

Hubby has BC/BS ($762/mo with $250 deductible) thru Board of Realtors & is diabetic so no one else will insure him. I have Golden Rule $285/mo with a $2,850 deductible. We both had BC/BS up until 2 years ago and it was $1200/mo for both of us. I went with Golden Rule to save on premiums. I severely broke my foot and tore my shoulder's rotator cuff in a fall March, 2007 and have racked up medical bills for 4 surgeries totaling over $50,000--and have been happy with Golden Rule. We are self employed and we pay, and pay, and pay, . . . .

I have it through the husband. $350 a month for a family of 4, and it's PPO BC/BS, dental and vision, no deductible. It's amazing insurance. I can't imagine having to pay out of pocket for the four of us.

Wow, that sounds great Suz-E

My wife works for Bank Of Texas and insures the three of us for 175 a month, no dental/vision and a 2k deductible on Bc/Bc Blueedge.
