2 cents worth on Disney World in heat of summer from someone who is close enough to have been better that 20 times.
I found it best with Disney's extented hours during summer is staying on grounds the let you in early, best I can remember staying outside, it opens at 9 am Be there at 8:30 to get as far as you can before 9, go have a great time till noon, most of the long line do not start till 11, at about noon pack up the family and go take a dip in pool, and relax, maybe take a nap, get back about 5 by then all the all dayers are dead, and headed out, line start getting shorter again and you and the kids are refreshed and can stay till Fireworks and you will have a better time with out all the heat stroke, I did the all dayers before I had kids tried that one time with a kid then someone told me about trying it this way, me it is the best way.

My 2cents

We are going camping with son/daughter-in-law/2 grandsons (one 4 and one will be 6 months) at the campground at Disney on July 19-20. It will be hot but the advantage is that we will be there on site (I would even pay extra for a hotel to be on site with small children) and can rest during the day. Go early, rest mid-day and go in the evening.

We already had our ski trip in Colorado in March, had a long weekend at the beach in April, are doing Disney in July and then will probably do something in September.

It will probably be very hot at Disney in May, but you might luck out. We have been having more rain (which believe it or not is an advantage as it cools things off) and the rain doesn't usually last long in the afternoon. Just a thunderstorm usually, and you can even sit those out in a covered attraction!

Boy it sure sounds good to see snow in July - I'll be thinking of that Greg, when I'm burning up with the little ones at Disney

My wife and I are planning an extended vacation starting in two week. I figure I need something relaxing after being so infuriated with the NCAB for over 4 years.

We are flying to Australia to buy a 40 foot cutter and plan to spend significant amount of time over the next several years cruising. Initially the plans are just cruising the barrier reef (not in search of the great white shark) for two - four months; plans after that are not determined.

If I could figure out how to send pictures of the boat on this web site, I would. But... if you are really interested, I can send them by e-mail. I have figured that out.

Regards to all

Richard,

Thanks for starting this thread! You've helped us all by at least THINKING about a vacation. It's given us hope that R & R are in the near future.

This is the year for the family (all grown). Colorado for a week with daugher, then Vegas late in the year with son & family. Got a week in New Orleans just for us. Not to mention 3 day weekends. Gotta decompress sometimes. Note: Colorado and New Orleans trips are by CAR! Only flying vacation this year is to Vegas. Just too big a hassle, especially flying out of DFW. Avoid this airport like the plague. The wait for security is horrible.

San Miguel and K-38, Baja California. Surf Trip. Me and the boys. Try and get a couple new boards finished by then to try out. My (infinitely patient) wife wants to go to Hawaii in the fall. So as it is written, so shall it be done.

Beginning the last week of April (opening of fishing) to the middle of December (last of Deer hunting), our company is on summer hours. The office phone and cell phone get turned off Friday at noon. This job doesn't pay enough to work more than 60 hours a week.

The wife and I will take some short trips this summer and fall. In October I'll take my annual pilgramage to the U.P. to chase the KING. I would like to make some short trips to WV, PA, etc. for Ruffs. Who knows maybe a quick trip to Midwest for Roosters. How's that sound Richard?

Call me when you are coming through. My best friend bought his retirement house in Da UP last summer and I have a key to it. He's a bachlor and a hunting nut. Maybe.................
