Governor Wolf just shut down all "non-life sustaining" businesses in PA.

God I though I lived in a Gestapo State but if I lived in Pennsylvania I may end up doing something crazy especially when it gets hot and humid .

"Godwin's law (or Godwin's rule of Hitler analogies)[1][2] is an Internet adage asserting that "as an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1".[2][3] That is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Adolf Hitler or his deeds, the point at which effectively the discussion or thread often ends.

Promulgated by the American attorney and author Mike Godwin in 1990,[2] Godwin's law originally referred specifically to Usenet newsgroup discussions.[4] He stated that he introduced Godwin's law in 1990 as an experiment in memetics.[2] It is now applied to any threaded online discussion, such as Internet forums, chat rooms, and comment threads, as well as to speeches, articles, and other rhetoric[5][6] where reductio ad Hitlerum occurs.

In 2012, "Godwin's law" became an entry in the third edition of the Oxford English Dictionary.[7]"

I am confused with what will happen. I thought that opening with restrictions was already happening as most counties are in green status and some (like where I live) is in yellow. No more red status. Open the state with no restrictions?

Most places are yellow, but restrictions are still in place.

The bill is to remove restrictions so everyone can get back to work.

Been down to the court house to research any deeds or mortgages lately???

We should compliment Adolph for being such an influential person... :) Mao and Josef are probably green with envy.

What I am confused about is who has final say: the governor or the legislature. On local TV news it seems the small business owners don't know who to listen to. I guess wait for a, hopefully, quick court ruling.

I haven't been to the courthouse as I am still staying "in place". Age and health issues drive my decisions now.

I went to the court house on the day we went yellow. That was a waste of gas. You can walk the hallways as long as you wear a mask, but all the offices are locked and the employees won't answer the door. So the only real difference between sheltering at home and going to the court house, is the quality of the flooring.

Otherwise, Wolf would have to sign the bill, to make it law, but says he won't. It is a state constitution issue, which requires many lawyers and judges to decide, and increased taxes later to pay for all of this. Otherwise, it'll come down to what your locals are enforcing.

Mixed bag at the courthouses in my area, some you walk in & do whatever you want, others want an appointment, some you're only allowed in the lobby & they bring you the paperwork you need. No problems obtaining what I need though, just some extra leg work & hassle.

He was a vegetarian and a painter.
I like Eddies's take on history. :rof:
