Call your local police and ask them. They are the ones that will stop you. The cop in the patrol car decides if (s)he should pick you up and arrest you, or just issue you a fine you can fight over in court later. No one else is going to make that decision that will impact the rest of your day or week. It is only the police.

But please explain how you will find "market value" if potential buyers are being told to stay home and boarders are closed to foreign buyers.

.
Pick me up and arrest me for what?? The market value issue is not about this thread.

Arrest you for anything the gov thinks you have violated.

Here is the Governor's website

Pay attention to the paragraph that starts:

Pursuant to the Emergency Management Services Code...........

I don't think for a second a police is going to arrest a real estate appraiser for inspecting a property.

And did the enforcement or government ask for what you think? Or are they telling you what to think and you are refusing.

Like it or not under essential services appraisal is considered essential; however, probably not under life sustaining. That said, people are not being "arrested". Fined perhaps, but not arrested and put into the gen pop petri dish. Especially since as far as I know there is no Delaware county court system operating at this time. I'm not setting foot into any occupied house, but I have enough 2055 work so far.

Well.

The governor's list does not say appraising is "essential"

Think what you like, make lots of money and save it all, for when it blows up.

If anyone thinks it was bad for appraisers, a decade ago, I think, it was nowhere near as bad as it will be this time around,

New York, no nonessential services open and identifying temporary hospitals.

New Jersey, Governor Murphy Announces Statewide Stay at Home Order, Closure of All Non-Essential Retail Businesses

Delaware, Governor Carney declared a State of Emergency starting on March 13, 2020 and updated it on March 16, 18, and 20.

Connecticut, Governor Lamont is telling Connecticut residents to "Stay Safe, Stay at Home." All non-essential workers statewide are being directed to work from home, effective Monday, March 23 at 8:00 p.m. For the latest information, resources, executive orders, and guidance related to coronavirus (COVID-19), visit ct.gov/coronavirus

And that's not even mentioning the largest "economic bailout in history" talks and news releases in DC.

Oh but hey,

You got "market value"

Even though your RE offices feeding the data are not allowed to operate in your state.

:rof:

Go for it.

I'm sure in 3-6 months when the REO filings start happening, the forum will need some giggles from the archives.

I don't have an office. I an a one-man show working form home. Not sure why you are all up in arms posting numerous links as I have no plans to set foot inside occupied properties.

These closures are meant to keep people from coming together. I do not think as a person writing reports in my home I should stop writing reports. That's makes no sense. The act of typing as I am doing as I write this in fact does not increase anyone's risk of contracting a virus. Even my physician wife agrees, typing reports and completing 2055's poses no increased risk.

You have a real estate appraiser license, issued by some state.

You are subject to the real estate appraiser board.

real estate is shut down in PA according to the Governor's website.

Pretend you are a bank all you want.

Just have a good bank ID, because the Governor's list does not provide any statement that appraisers are except or, okay if doing only lender work.

Nope not there. Call your local police about their intent to enforce.
