Just wondering if anyone has heard about appraisers1.com?
I got a call from them the other day, and they seem to be a lot more proactive as far as marketing your company for you compared to other directories I have looked at that just stick your info on a page.
I have been researching different directories lately, and they actually seem better than most.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I paid $299.00 in July to Appraisers1.com still have not recieved an order through them.

You guys/gals must get a kick out of throwing money down the drain.

How about WE start getting proactive and start asking these outfits for references before sending our hard earned money? How about we send a message to these companies?

Ask for 5 references; 5 appraisers who are doing business with them in your respective states...and then, after you have placed a call to every appraiser reference and receive a positive response it might be time to consider the investment.

I don't like to see my fellow appraisers getting screwed, but I swear, some of you are just beyond help.

Well today I called a few appraisers from appraisers1.com listings, and the majority were happy with the service and have gotten at least one assignment. Out of the 6 that I called, 4 said they would renew after a year, and the other 2 said they would consider it after their contract is up to see how much business it brought them.
One of the guys I talked to told me that he has been with them for 3 years, and as the years go by, the website has gotten more popular. He wasn't sure that he was getting any extra business from signing up, until he started asking his clients how they found him, and it turned out that 3 people in the 2nd year found him on appraisers1.com.

So after talking with that guy a while, I called appraisers1.com and talked to an area director, and asked a few questions about what separates them from their competition. The main thing was that they actively send out your information to lenders both in your area, and around the country. They also have incentive programs for lenders to use their appraisers, such as a chance to win $250 for going with an appraiser on the site. They also advertise their site in several ways, such as in the NMB magazine, emails, calls, faxes, etc around the country.
The other aspect of the site that I liked was that their listings for each county are rotated each time someone visits, so each listing gets equal exposure. I know that appraisers.com doesn't do this, which is the main reason I wouldn't sign up with them.

Does anyone have any info on other directory sites about what separates them from other sites?

Why would a trainee be advertising at all? Perhaps ouch1a is a shill for this website? I like the idea of paying their fee as $50.00 for each full fee COD order that comes in until the $300.00 is paid. Otherwise, go get in line.

I think you will be hard pressed to find a marketing company that will give references. It is kind of ridicouls to ask anyways, does 5 peoples success with a company guarentee that it will work for you. do you ask the yellow pages for refferences?
Again - it's called marketing.

Give it a whirl

You might try Appraisalleads.com - thry have worked for me. I don't know if that means they will work for you but it is worth a try. They got a bad rep on this sight for spamming but once i signed up I got some action. They actually give you free leads and let you contact the clients through their site. It is kind of easy to ytrack your efforts also. I think 3 months cost me 90 bucks or so.
