How Many Appraisals Do You Complete Each Week?

So you make + $125,000? I seriously doubt that!

I don't know what my 1099's added up to last year, but I would hope they'd be at least that much. After taking out expenses for being self employed, that is hardly a great living. I'm not sure I'd do this if my 1099's added up too much less.

So I guess the question should be, what are the differences between the one a day vs the three a day?
3-1=2, Sorry, couldn't resist. How about a more specific question? Quality? Organization? Reasonableness?

My workload is not relevant to your question. Unless your looking at a certain weekly income level as opposed to appraisal mill work. Go complex, diversify do anything you can to escape the claws of the Typical AMC Appraiser mill. Lender work fluctuates to much for a Young Appraiser.

I am semi-retired. If i complete one per week that's cool. My goal is two per week. My fee range is between $450-$750. It occasionally dips to $400 on an assignment and the highest fee I have ever received was $2,400.

So what could I complete if I wanted to work five week days every week. about four at most, more accurately 3-4.

Exactly.....

It is a sad fact that appraisals have been commodified and fees are so ridged.

Turned into commodes? Hardly or on second thought maybe? Rigid maybe?;)

I can do about 10 a week with my assistant, but that means burning the midnight oil and maybe working weekends. Less than 5 a week is slow, 5 is comfortable, 7-8 busy, 10 slammed, more than that insane and reports will probably be late. It usually gets busy late winter depending on the weather, stays very busy through summer, slacks off in the fall, and sometimes dead in the winter. Take vacation then.

Maybe I'll start a new post.
"How many can you do a week and stay out of court ?"

Difficult to do more than one a day and that is what limits income for the typical residential appraiser. Rushing and cutting corners just results in more time spent on corrections and such. I have part time office HELP 3-4 days a week and still can only get 5 done in a week without working longer hours.

Might want to check your perspective on that one. Even after expenses that is a lot of money and you can live very well in most of the country on that. Less than 20% of our country has a household income(multiple wage earners) of 6 figures or more.
