Do not need to mention what you charge as I am sure we are not allowed to collaborate on that, however, I would like to know how many of you charge a "trip fee"? For example...you are to meet a Realtor/borrower to let you in a home and they do not show up? Or you go pick up a key and it does work? I've been having an issue with this lately and have put this verbage on my fee sheet:

*This fee applies if owner/borrower/Realtor is not at the property at the scheduled time, if the key does not work, or for any reason we are unable to access the property during the scheduled time and have to go back out.

I guess with gas prices and the frustration of it I feel like I have the right to charge for this?? I'd love some thoughts-thanks!

Yes, I charge a trip fee. I have charged one several times.

Absolutely! Although it rarely happens, when it does, you best bet I am getting paid for my time spent!

I have always charged a trip fee. My fee is basically the same as a construction draw inspection for the area.

Always charge a trip fee and never had an argument getting paid.

Don't forget the photos......Most AMC's insist the see a photo to "Prove" you were actually at the property, I really like the ones that want a "picture" of the address (Mailbox, numbers on the house) just to make sure your telling the truth......babysitting, that's what they get their $ 100-150. per order to due.

It happens and your time is money, charge for your time which sometimes get wasted as you said.............

Yep. If I set an appointement and go to the property, I expect to get paid for my time and expense.

We charge and have charged for trip fees. Espically, since gas is above $3 a gallon.
