I bought a used Samsung S22 for $140 from Walmart and paid for an extra phone line just to use my Android Auto. My 16 "pro" "max" (LOL) still doesn't work correctly with my new Honda's Carplay bc well, it's utter dogshi and a 3 year base model Samsung makes it work perfect. This isn't an exotic foreign supercar it's a freaking CRV. They know it's a known issue (devs are working on it) and the workaround they told me is to wait for an update. That was 2 months and 2 updates ago absolute View attachment 103261 show company but happy it works for your purposes.
Anymore, I am not a big iPhone user. Honestly, the latest iPhone 16 Max Pro I bought (a good deal) was overkill. I get the Max Pro each time for its large screen, 8GB of RAM, maximum CPU speed, and usually with 256GB of storage. I mostly upgrade to a new version about every two versions, choosing the time to do so about 1-2 months before the planned release of a new version. Knowing that version 17 is coming out in September, I upgraded from version 14 to 16 in July/August, also taking advantage of a sale using the best deal provider, in my case, Xfinity.
I have no compulsion to buy anything better. A lot of people get by just fine, 4-5 generations behind on the iPhone. When they decide to upgrade, they usually have to pay full price.
