OK. I was just curious. I can see where the touch screen might have been an issue. I was just surprised you couldn't get drivers from the various manufacturers for everything. Sounds like you've got things working though.

If you don't mind me hijacking your thread. How are you liking Clickforms? I swtiched to Total but I am not completely satisfied. I may check out Clickforms again.
I used Total for a number of years and had a falling out with them and will never ever go back. Clickforms has pretty much all the same features (it has a few that Total does not have and Total has a few that Clickforms does not have but the differences are negligible). The HUGE difference to me is that Clickforms is much more honest about what you really get and what it will really cost you in the long run. When you buy Clickforms you get pretty much the entire program and can actually do appraisals without having to buy extra services in order to upload reports to the various portals, etc. And they have several different pricing programs and payment options. And personally I find that it does not crash or freeze up my computer the way that Total did on all of my various machines. None of them are perfect but Clickforms to me is way ahead of Total in performance and more importantly reliability. Just my two cents worth.

Interesting. I have found the exact opposite in regards to pricing. I have a simple operation and only work with local lenders so I don't need any of the portals. For me the basic $350 Total package is everything I need. I get all my maps, sketching, census and everything along with a secure delievery method via Data Currier for $350. With Clickforms I have to pay twice as much and still purchase a separate sketch program and don't have a secure way to deliver appraisals.

I do like Clickforms better though. I feel it flows a lot better with how I do my work. I feel Total is more cumbersome. I also have lots of little bug issues. But I expect some of them are due to working inside a virtual machine.

With the VM you have twice the overhead so that will slow any program a little - but yes I had a lot more bug issues with Total than I ever had with Clickforms.

In order to really compare apples to apples between the programs you have to take into account not only what it cost to have the various export/portal options but also flood maps and other services as well. And I agree, Clickforms has a much more natural "flow" to the program than Total.

The only thing I wish Clickforms had more of was "letter sized" forms, addendums, cover pages, etc. I can write narratives in it but it takes a little doing, they could make it a lot easier by only adding a few more basic forms and addenda.

You had two options:

Put the fancy new computer in the closet for a year or so and go by a W7 laptop or buy CF for the new computer.

Please let other CF users (like me) know of your W10 experience with the software. Thanks.

Very true. Although I have enough power in my hardware to make sure thats not an issue.

Very true again. My needs are simpler than others, so for me Total is the better value. I don't need a basket full of apples, just one or two apples. I wish Clickforms had a simpler package that gave me everything Total does for $350. I dropped ACI years ago because I hated paying for all those eServices that I never used, but were bundled in the package. Clickforms is much the same. I love the software, but the pricing structure doesn't work for me.

Hmmm...seems like there are ample letter sized options in the menu.....try the search box in the Forms Library....what kind of basic forms do you seek?

CF minus your sketch and Data Currier(?) runs me $399 with census, maps and support. They did have special last year for $350 but it never seems to be there when I have to renew. :)

Not sure why I would ever want to buy a two year old computer instead of a new state-of-the-art with all the new abilities and software - prefer a step forward not two steps backwards. And yes I am well versed in CF and aware of all the letter-sized stuff it has - and what it does not have. That's where I wish CF would look at Total and add a few letter-sized forms and addenda they have but CF does not. But as I said - I'm able to craft a narrative in CF - it just takes a little more doing.

So you can run that crappy ol' software.....lol

Luckily you only have to do it once and you can save it for instant access in future reports.
