If you don't have a gun yet, better get one

And someone will force the issue into federal court and apply the standards set by SCOTUS in their recent decisions...hopefully.
Thanks to New York State Rifle & Pistol Association vs. Bruen many of the States restrictive gun laws will fall.

Here's a snapshot of the Oregon State Police "instant" Background Check queue as of this morning:

Federal Judge Halts New York’s New Law Limiting Concealed Carry of Firearms in “Sensitive” Locations, Says Key Provisions Are Unconstitutional

Democrat Governor Hochul signed into law a bill that limits concealed carry of firearms in “sensitive” locations in wake of the Supreme Court’s ruling.

“The new law lays out a strict licensing process to obtain a concealed-carry permit and a list of locations deemed “sensitive” — including Times Square — where firearm possession will be illegal, according to the legislative text. Other areas defined as sensitive include government-owned buildings, schools, health care facilities, places of worship and public transportation. People who carry a gun in a prohibited location could be charged with a felony under the law.” CNN reported.

At some point the gun geeks are going to start orienting their designs to the mfg process they're using. And if possessing one is already illegal then they don't have that much more to lose by making SBRs which will be even more effective for close range shootups. Full auto isn't necessary.
Gun geeks. A lot of truth in that, in fact my experience with those tagged with the “gun nut” label, that disparaging term coined by the limber wrist society know nothing about them. Most truly are every bit as geeky as golf nuts, computer gamers or any other hobby/obsession. The media should call them gun geeks to be more accurate.

I don’t qualify as a gun geek because I had to look up SBR. I still maintain that one of the safest public gatherings one can attend is a gun convention, they’re polite as hell. I know one person who owns a legal fully automatic machine gun, a class C license I think is what is required to legally own one. The permits were a hassle and expensive….so was the ammo. As I recall the ATF used to visit him a couple times a year to make certain he was obeying every letter of the law. He was a trust baby so expense was no problem, his great granddad probably never counted on his great grandson wasting his time and money playing Audie Murphy on the back 40. I have no desire to own a full auto weapon, in fact the drop in auto sear conversion process is about as difficult as changing the oil on one’s car. If we ever reach TEOTWAWKI, I’ll get to work on it. I recall a t-shirt they used to sell in Soldier of Fortune magazine with the drop in auto sear photo which said “Why waltz, when you can rock and roll?” :)

If you do not own a firearm or all of the firearms that you would like to purchase, then you better go out and buy them before the rush in October!

This unconstitutional mess of a Ballot Measure contains an unfunded mandate that will shut down all firearm transfers in 2023 for weeks, or possibly months!

Shut it down for everyone except cops, their families and the politicians who hold the cops purse strings.

Criminals, of course, will continue to buy, borrow or steal their firearms without any pesky Background Checks. And Soros funded DAs will let them walk with no charges.

Oregon Ballot Measures are only suppose to contain a single subject, however, this BM has a second which bans the sale of firearm magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds. Oh you can keep the standard capacity magazines that came with your firearm, you just cannot leave the house with them. How is that two subjects? To use a car example, it would be saying that all drivers are required to take a DMV approved course and pass a test every five years before being issued a permit to purchase a vehicle, ALSO all vehicles with an engine size of more than 2.0 liters are banned from sale or use in public. Oh you can still drive it around your property. Don't have acreage property? Too bad for you, take the bus.

Criminals, of course, will continue to shoot at each other with 30+ round magazines.

Sounds like things are getting out of hand. It's like a lawless country with diverse laws. A nation divided.

Never owned a gun, but starting to rethink that.

Take classes and find a gun range if you do.

I quit hunting with guns. I'm not saying I'm a good shot but I hunt squirrels throwing rocks left-handed to keep from tearing up so much meat. :)

BM114 Effective date is December 8, 2022
Ballot measures take effect 30 days after the election at which they are approved.

****! I thought that we had until the end of the year.

Buy now or cry later.
