If you don't have a gun yet, better get one

My understanding was that Mr. Pelosi had a hammer and the attacker used the hammer and fractured Pelosi's skull.
If Mr. Pelosi had a gun, attacker could have wrestled it from him and he would be dead.

You don’t need to get as close with a gun as you do a hammer. Most hand gun interactions occur within 27’. As an aside an 82 year old with a gun would scare me a lot more than an 82 year old with a hammer. If I wasn’t scared enough to back off a well place shot would end the situation.

in all honesty at 82 years old he probably should have retreated to his bedroom and barricaded himself until the calvery arrived. I know it is a guy thing but with age comes diminished capacity.

Don't know how the police got there so fast. I have feeling he has some direct access/security method in contacting police to hurriedly come at 2:30 AM. SF police are not that fast.

A gunshot blast will get police rolling faster than a call to 911.

A few years ago a law-abiding homeowner in one of the Liberal ****ehole cities with the ShotSpotter system (I forget which one) was being threatened by a mob. He was on his front porch with his AK-47. When it became obvious that they were coming in no matter what, he shot four times into his lawn. ShotSpotter triangulated his location and sent the cops there in a hurry.

About Pelosi, sounds like some kninky ****e gone wrong.

Yes, hammers and knives are quiet and do not need to be reloaded, but you need to be within contact distance. Firearms are great for stopping that attacker at a distance before they can hurt you.

The Pelosi story keeps getting weirder

Number one, handguns, 8,029. Number two, firearms—type not stated, 4,863. Number three, knives or cutting instruments [at 1,739]. Personal weapons, fists [and or] feet [at 662]. Then rifles at 455. Then blunt objects clubs, hammers at 393. The hammers, that stat is just wrong."

Watch this. Then try and convince me Guns are the problem.
