Anyone in Illinois notice the days on market has been removed from the listing sheet imput on PC Access? Wonder why??????????

From MLSNI

Monday, April 7, 2008 - Changes to Market Time

Midwest Real Estate LLC (MRED) interim board has adopted the following changes to removing Market Time from Agent Reports. These changes take effect today, Monday, April 7, 2008.

* Remove the 1-line with Market Time Report

* Remove Market Time from ALL Detail Reports - Listing Market Time will still display

These changes will not effect the display of Market Time on Listing/ Property History, CMA Reports, and Custom Format fields list. The Market Time field will still be used to calculate Average Market Time on all statistical reports.

PC Access will be terminated as of September 1, 2008. Going to have to use the collectMLS database. I am going to miss the PC Access. That was such as easy system to use.

Wonder why days on market was removed from the main listing? Me thinks that it is a way to "hide" the outrageous marketing times/days on markets that many of these properties are experiencing. Another little broker/realtor tip in "buttering up" the listing.

They've played around with removing and adding this data over the years. It's just a blatant attempt to make the market look better than what it is by basically making it very difficult to calculate this statistic.

You can still get the MT field to show up in a custom report. However, it won't show you an average by itself. It appears that what they are trying to do is to hide extended marketing times on an individual listing basis.

I am finding that very annoying today! :new_2gunsfiring_v1:

Guess I'll have to learn to live with it, but, good grief....it's going to take FOREVER to figure it out when you're running the neighborhood stats. UGH!

Oh no!!! This just ruined my day. I didn't know it was going away forever this soon! I don't like connect or rexplorer! :Eyecrazy:

I just migrated from using RExporer to connectMLS. connectMLS has some pretty handy features, particulry the rubber band tool. Check it out.

I haven't figured out how to do custom spreadsheets on connectMLS so I still use RExplorer for my large data dumps.

PC Access?!? Come on!!!

Not only that, but MLSNI apparently has a new name- Midwest Real Estate Data. I've been in this business for over 20 years and can't even keep track of all of the name changes. Every time they merge two groups together they come up with a third name rather than at least keeping one of the old established names. Between the MLS and board of realtors I think I have 8 or 9 passwords to get into all of their systems. They've created an extremely complex web of ownership connections between the local boards and MLS that is tough to keep track of.

Here's a good link to their home page where there is a document you can download that explains how to set up a custom report that always includes days on market. http://www.mredllc.com/mredsecure/AgentDesktop.asp

I've been trying to download it for about 20 minutes and it keeps hanging up.

I believe this name change is due to the merger with MAP.

UGH, what the heck is a rubber band tool? :rof:

I need a class for this thing they call connectMLS:new_smile-l: ...or perhaps hours of sitting by my lonely old self and attempting to learn something new. :rof: I've actually used it, but I don't really like it.

And don't dis the PC Access....

BTW Kibler, spoke to you're wife today, she is lovely. :flowers:
