Incorrect roster data

I moved from Cleveland, Ohio to Tampa, Florida and used the above listed process through the FHA connection to update my information, and the updates were made the next day. I simply scanned my new license and posted it via the website, and then changed my office address info. The FHA connection route is the way to go when updating information, as you can avoid the faxing and post documents via the web.

Mr. Westfall,

Unfortunately, what you are not considering is the event of an appraisers address being incorrect and the appraiser not having an "FHA ID" yet. If that appraiser uses FHA Connection to obtain an FHA ID, they will ONLY mail out a letter with the FHA ID (Not email it) to the incorrect address they have on file. So if the appraiser doesn't get that letter, the appraiser cannot log into FHA connection to correct the address problem or any other information.

Nice huh?

Webbed.

Good point, and obviously I'm displaying my "newbie" status... Hopefully, mail forwarding to the new address may help with this, so the web site may still be a viable option. If not, its surely a pain and a sticky situation, especially with webbed feet (LOL)... And I'm certain that the department has recently been slammed with new requests for being added to the roster, so their turn time will no doubt be very poor.

FHA Connection username and password

I have been trying for about 6-8 weeks to get the info changed on the FHA connection web-site. I registered and was told that I was already registered and must use the username and password issued to my administrator when I was put on the FHA roster. I have never had a username and password that I can remember and I am having a VERY difficult time trying to get that info changed on FHA Connection. ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS??????

I just had the same problem. I had a computer crash about a month ago and lost my log on ID.

They had me as expired, even though I updated my info well before the deadline. I called the regional office (Atlanta) and the phone rang for 22 minutes before someone picked up. She had no clue and tried to send me to the helpdesk. I knew that wasn't the right place but she refused to help me. I called the helpdesk and they couldn't fix my problem (just like I suspected).

I called the Atlanta office again and it RANG FOR OVER AN HOUR before I gave up.

I also faxed my info, and snail mailed my info to the Atlanta AND Washington offices. Both to no avail.

****End Rant****

Anyway, I emailed SFADMIN@HUD.gov and told them that I needed my Log In ID and password. They will ask for your social security number, and will take 12-24 hours between correspondence, but they got me what I needed and I got the info updated online within minutes.

Sorry for the long post, but I needed to vent. I just got this resolved today.

About three weeks ago I started my own company. I had also just upgraded my license so I faxed a copy of my new license along with a short letter stating that I was on my own, was aggressively (sp) marketing myself and provided my new information.
I know you guys won't believe this but my information was updated on the website the NEXT DAY !!!
I was very impressed to say the least.

I would believe it :-) It lends towards their inconsistency...

After getting the blow off form them twice within a 4 month period, I just drove stuff down to them and handed it to them personally--not an option for most, I know, but I did get a call that week and was on a month or so later...

Now you have to register as a user at their site. Search for "Appraiser" at the home page and the link to register will come up. After your registration is accepted, you can change what you need to change. This may take some time as they are using snail mail to mail out the registration information

Contact HUD

The best way is to find the office that serves your area. For Richmond, VA - it is the Philadelphia office.

HUD officials always respond via email and or telephone.

Just be patient.

Sincerely,
Lore DeAstra

I got the quick response from FHA too. I faxed and e-mailed them my updated license and received 2 phone calls the next day offering to help my situation and it was taken care of the same day. Who are these new people at the Washington office? and what have they done with the old ones that didn't care?
