Increase in insurance

State Farm has only dropped residential policies in high-risk fire zones
Something that could be mitigated if Newsome and his cronies would just listen to the real experts when it comes to forest management. But they would rather blame the power company

The government is in a state of denial which is what most idiots do when they screw the pooch. What they should be doing is harvesting and thinning the forests for a portion of the debris that collects as a natural consequence of a collection of large conifers being bunched together. If it was me, I would offer these materials free of charge to enterprising companies that want to develop organic compost for farming. This seems to me like it could be a winner scenario as it would begin to solve two distinctly different problems in terms of out-of-control wildfires and potent synthetic fertilizer run off into streams and rivers.

Most forests have far too many trees. A healthy forest usually supports only 80 -120 mature trees. Many have 400 trees or more. That's why they burn so hot. The best controlled burns and natural fires are ground fires that never get into the crown. The Nature Conservancy is about the only "environmental" group that recognizes that and actually does managed burns.

The Indian tribes used to manage the forest floors because they knew what would happen if they didn't.

It's the cycle of life. Trees burn down and new ones sprout. Nature lovers now that.

It's not real nature lovers that are the problem. It is the green cult activists that are the problem. Along with the politicians that pander to and placate them

it's also, don't build your home in dry bush valley or next to the big river or hurricane/tornado alley. but these things were just as bad long ago, but they didn't have the nutty left tv crying it out, and population growth in bad areas has increased more damage, cause more properties there. green is being mismanaged by the loving left green government people, but then they get their proof to yell, it's the environment. don't look at us.

There are some tree loving communities that refuse to cut down trees.
Recently when we had some strong wind few weeks ago, many large trees fell and even killed some people.
In my town, a huge tree fell onto a main street. Fortunately, no one was hurt or cars at that time and the tree was removed within several hours. Amazing.
I have big trees and worry if they will fall. Insurance companies won't help pay to cut the trees but will help with claim if it falls and causes damages. Doesn't make sense.

As I mentioned before, my commercial insurance was not renewed and I had to look for another company.
My insurance broker quoted me one company at $16,000. WTF!
That's more than double what I was paying last year.

Insurance industry is in the midst of a massive upheaval.
