Last claim when I had sewage backup for one unit, the other unit also had leaking pipes but insurance company wouldn't cover it.your building insurance only covers water damage from a roof leak, or a leaking line in the building i believe. a sewer problem is all your cost up to the main city sewer line. interior water damage from that is your cost problem. when interest rates were 3% that was the time to rehab all your properties, and then not to worry about them for 20 years. so to continue saving a penny you will eventually give yourself a heart attack from this aggravation.
