I have two of them as well. What I like is that I can fit the camera in my pocket. Some of the larger cameras have to go around the neck or back in the case when bringing out the measuring tape.
WooohoooO! Just drop testing my DC215 two more times in two days! Second time I tried to save it with my foot but it ended up as more of a punt across the room and I thought I broke my toe.. Still works like a champ!
The reason I bought my first one was because it'd pay for itself in 2 months, I couldn't EDI without it, and it's cheap enough so that if something horrendous happens to it, the cost to replace is negligible to the cost of doing business. And I live within a few miles of Best Buy.
My Vivitar Auto-Focus P5:35 is now 15 years old. Been through 2 droppings (falls out of car onto pavement) and general all around mistreatment (unintentional). Looks plenty banged-up, but still works. When protective slide got stuck so bad I couldn't operate it anymore, I used Liquid Wrench on it. After which it worked like new.
Buy the way, it works with gloves on. Mittens if need be.
I have dropped my 215 twice, and the darn battery tray has broken both times. First time it was the tray, which was a cheap fix, second time it is the pin that holds the tray. I doubt that this will be a cheap repair, so I will probably buy a new camera. I really liked the ease of use with this camera, but when it first broke, I knew it was only a matter of time before the mechanism that holds the tray would break.
