Low effort appraisers

The name of my business has always been Mark K______, Appraiser. Me email has always been MK______@gmail.com.

My attorney uses the same format, the same as a lot of appraisers I know.

BTW, I'm mostly retired now but for the past 34 years I always had plenty of business. I'd guess that I was caught-up (out of work) for a total of maybe 30--60 days over 34 years. It didn't bother any lender, the State, the Feds, the DOT, multiple school systems, engineering companies, cities, towns, etc. Seems not everyone is as concerned about it as you.

I have both, but my clients must prefer my shorter msn.com email address because I rarely get emails to my long domain email address.

I still can't get over the fact that so many appraisers use unprofessional personal email addresses like @yahoo.com, @gmail.com, @verizon.net, @comcast.net. This just screams low-effort to clients. A custom domain is like $10 per year on https://www.namecheap.com and an Outlook 365 or Gmail pro email account for it a few bucks per month...

Think of it this way: would you trust a lawyer or doctor who uses a mustang67law@gmail.com type of email address?
Everyone knows gmail and google so it's fine.
If I see verizon, I think sucker paid too much for cell service.

I commend your efforts to point out to appraisers that they should be more professional with their business email address.

But to me, it is so low on the totem pole of importance.

I can't get over the fact that appraisers nationwide, won't stop accepting AMC orders for a week, write a press release to send to news media outlets to alert them of the atrocities that are happening in valuing the publics most valuable asset. That the appraiser is chosen by the lowest fee and quickest turn time.....not experience, geographical competency, and report quality. It's just accepted.....but let's look more professional with our email addresses.

Sorry cpursley....I think you're a really intelligent dude though...
