Mass Layoffs

Economy added 272k jobs in Feb '24; Unemployment Rate hit 3.9%

That's how it works in capital markets. Companies get rid of workers when not profitable to keep them.
With AI and high minimum wages, jobs will be lost. Shouldn't be surprise.

I was watching a rerun of Good Times last night.
Mom told JJ to sound smart when if asked about the economy subject.
In regard to higher unemployment in the economy, that's because less people are working. Smart momma.

The problem, especially under this administration, is that agencies are writing law, actually modifying the law via "regulations" that the legislature has not approved. EPA, ATF, OSHA, NLRB, all have re-written the rule books to increase the scope of the work that the agencies are overseeing. EPA was overturned on declaring that a private land tract could not be developed and doing so without justification under the "taking clause" of the constitution. Same with the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) and the rules that apply to oil and gas leasing, timber cutting, grazing leases. The laws were clear that they were for a multi-use system where all the above were to be applied and administered under a standard of regulation provided in the law.

Fiat declarations that this is off limits and that is off limits and no, we will approve short-barreled rifles today and declare them illegal tomorrow, well, that is not the way it should work. Giving ranchers 99-year leases provided they drill water wells and erect gates, etc. then taking those leases away? Declaring a farm pond a "wetlands"? Was that the intent of the original WOTUS? No. Selling leases, keeping the money then declaring that they cannot drill under the lease? Not an uncommon lawsuit. These agencies don't even understand the rules they write, and many have been written to accommodate the president. The legislature should write the rules. The executive should execute the law according to those rules. And the courts should be the arbitrator of whether the executive is actually complying with the law.

Why do you think the largest and most consistent source of new jobs is the government. And what are these bureaucrats doing? They are writing rules to suit the executive branch and to insure that their own jobs and scope is increased. Government bureaucracy is a self-metastasizing monstrosity.

It'll be gone like it never happened, 240 days from right now.

Don't bet the ranch if you don't want to live in town. And it will be back in 4 more years, by which time I hope I have returned to room temperature.

well, here is 1 reason for unlimited immigration. tyson is disgusting. i will boycott them.

Campaigners are urging consumers to stop buying Tyson products amid its wave of closures of poultry- and meat-processing plants across Iowa, Virginia, Arkansas, Indiana, and Missouri.

They point to Tyson's efforts to hire thousands of asylum seekers in New York, offering $16.50-an-hour wages and free immigration lawyers, accusing the firm of ditching US-born workers for cheaper migrant labor.

Tyson Foods BOYCOTTED as it sacks 1,300 staff at Iowa pork plant and offers 'job-and-lawyer' packages in bid to hire 42,000 asylum seekers in New York
