MH Foundation vs Perimeter Enclosure

Dealt a little with Perry County. That was where I was born. I am sure they could get rough if you went in there with an attitude. Probably still is lowest or close to lowest minority population county in TN.

I still think this assessor with the OP was scared the appraiser was there representing another party and wanting to challenge them for some reason. You need to be clear why you are there when you go in asking for information.

They are there to serve public trust just like an appraiser appraising real property in their jurisdiction. Same.

Again, many appraisers make income challenging tax assessors on an individual's real property taxes. They have to go before a legal board and do it officially in local areas.

Ya'll know that. I am preaching to the choir.

One more example. An area of Shelby County got annexed by Memphis. Very rich people lived there.

They got together and went before the State and sued the City of Memphis and Shelby County.

They won. They got de-annexed.

Tiffany would not understand. LOL

You have to be careful folks. Everything is local on real property.

Always remember you are appraising real property rights. Alway remember. Verily I say unto you. Jesus only said verily when he wanted to make sure you knew. He told criminal on the cross beside Him. Truly, I say unto you. You will be with me today in paradise.

Ask the middle east if they know what Jesus said? Muslim or Jewish or Christian. They know what Jesus said.

The tax assessor can be your best friend in helping your client on real property rights.

I moved at the end of 2015. I lived in unincorporated Shelby County between Raleigh and Bartlett. I remember all the Houston Levee Rd folks and the Southwind annexation controversy, but I was only doing commercial property by then.

I learned so much about consolidation and parcel splits, and researching deeds to verify sales at the Assessor's office, then more than I could handle about Greenbelt, mineral rights and personal property appraisal when I moved here. I also had to verify all the IDB properties and handle the appeals for Low Income Housing Credit properties. I learned a great deal about things most appraisers don't have to bother with.
