I’m sure many of us wonder where previous posters to the forum have gone. Here are a few I haven’t seen post in some time. Any idea where they are???? lurking possibly?

Henry C the appraiser who boasted of 71 years of FHA experience.....where is he? He was
caustic, but extremely competent. I wouldn’t want him reviewing one of my FHA reports.

Les Brandt......the guy who used to fall in love with a different girl every time he visited
Texas.....do you think he might have married a female goat roper and stayed there????

A husband/wife appraiser team in Georgia.....their names escape me.....

Gary Montgomery in Washington state near the Hood Canal.....he used to flame me without mercy, but I do miss his posts. Gary do you still have the shrimp boat?

Ruth in Michigan?

Walter, the guy appraised the house which was stigmatized by a reported alien
abduction....Walter did they whisk you away as well??????

Jim in upstate New York.....the last report was that he jumped ship and took a job with a
municipality as a tax king.

De'Lores..... the Texas gal who appraised and also owned a casket store.....an ideal situation for
estate work if I ever saw one. I think I’m still in love with her. :-)

Eric in Westchester County, NY......surely he can get us some of raw data and some pictures of
the Clinton estate in Chapaqua.....

Paulette.....the nice Texas lady in Houston town....a die hard Bush lover with a lot of sass and a lot of
Rotts....

Amelio in Dallas/FW???

Poppy the guy who actually appraised a house that Eric Rudolph built......Poppy I hope you’re
still alive!!!

Mad Jack the G-Man in north Texas.

and last but not least, Joe Moore, our own AMC royalty and USPAP slave..Uncle Joe are you
still brushing up on USPAP 2003 before you making another run at the rogues in here? I’m ready. :-)

maybe a cyber reunion is in order.

Bobby,

Not sure what happened to the others, but Henry C died a few months ago. He was funny!

And where is our Alaska 'big foot' kin?

Mr Moore has been posting at the NAIFA site along with some of the others.

Bobby,

I never remember Henry C. posting on the appraisersforum. I invited him lots of times but he never posted here to my knowledge He was always over on the NAIFA FHA site. I still remember him calling one of my posts, the stupidest thing ever posted on the NAIFA forum....even though he was wrong about measuring condos. There is a tribute post to him containing some of his hilarious posts over on NAIFA HUD. I'm mentioned down at the bottom. He was the only guy that actually measured comparable sales and recommended everyone else do so also. He'd get shot in NJ.

Sadly, he died on Christmas Eve in 2001 as Pam, had mentioned in her post.

The NAIFA FHA forum has been also "dead" since then

I do miss Henry C. No one to this day has ever found out his real name. His moniker was named after the former head of HUD, Henry Cisneros...

Mike Boyd from CA has also been missing from the forum since the new format.

I really miss Paulette and the Rotts, as well as Dick Dolman. Also Nancy in Friday Harbor hasn't been around much.....she invited me to come see her on our next stopover going to Anchorage.

I guess some of the people get angry at something and busy, as well. In some ways (and I do understand why they changed it) the old forum where you could post anything about anything in one thread was kind of fun....it really isn't quite as fun any more, as sometimes people get jumped on for saying almost anything.

I loved the thread about the weird road names and the weird experiences everyone had....Sometimes I think there are just too many categories now. I never have time to read all of them.

Paulette and the Rotts

Upon rare occas. she has posted recently I believe

Henry C. roasted and toasted me merciless in NAIFA site 5 yr. ago. He was from Mizzou. He and a Washington State appraiser/NAIFA director and I went toe to toe for weeks over USPAP. Holding my ground, I felt vindicated when several of my predications came true - the general gist of my comments were that USPAP provides us little cover and much ammo for a lawyer to gun us down with. A theme I still behold.

When Henry would fail to shake my postion, he was fond of falling back on those years of experience claims.

People lose interest, get busy, etc. There are several forums I used to follow but do not any more (not about appraising). Interests change.

Yeah, I know we could have stayed with our small little group that I started in 1998, but you tend to get stale when you don't move forward! Heck it was a week or two before anyone ever posted the first message!

But look at the TON of new people that have joined us within the past year! Look at all they have contributed! Each new person brings new ideas and something we might not have considered before.

Thanks for everyone's support!

Bobby, I could have said the same thing about you a few weeks age. After not seeing much of anything from you for quite a while, I was glad to see several posts from you in the last few weeks.

We need your sense of humor.

I think two things have happened. One is that the large number of forums makes it easier to get lost.

The second thing is that I think some people who just want to discuss appraising and get a look at different view points have gotten kind of tired of some of the demagogues on the forum. I’m not pointing fingers at anyone specifically, (partly because I have probably been guilty myself of jumping on people who don’t seem to hold the same point of view I do) but, unfortunately, it seems like a few of the posters have become very vocal; as one other poster said, you can’t hardly say anything anymore without getting jumped on. Personally I have wondered if some didn’t have ulterior motives for the things they have posted here - and not necessarily in the best interests of the appraisal profession.

I really miss Paulette and the Rotts, as well as Dick Dolman.

Paulette left after the format changed; I enjoyed her alot. This is progress, as Wayne says. But, I can't keep up with All of the different forums on here because it's much more time consuming for me (debatable, I know). And, I never did catch on to that "sticky" thing. Not a complaint, just my opinion.....I think everybody's got one! :D

Whatever happened to Twafik ? (can't remember last name). He was one of the more knowledgeable posters here.
