Wayne

You are absolutely correct about the change in times and the different formats. In the old days, and I think I started in 1999, perhaps early 2000, there were very few posters and a small number of lurkers. I liked the diversity of topics and the crazy characters in the general forum.

Occassionaly I long for the good old days on this forum when there were so few posters, but the reality is that I really do not have the time and the mindset to keep up with all the threads and respond only when a topic peaks my interest. So the segregation helps in that regard.

But, the problem with the segregation into the various forums means that some really good and universal topics get lost in the less visited topics. Since I am mostly posting on the political forum, I wish more folks would read the threads on ethics and problems with the regulators issues, but realistically, these threads are just not what most appraisers on the forum want to sink their teeth into.

All in all, it is a great forum. Wayne, you are to be congratulated for keeping the decourm at aprofessional level, and you have some able assistants in Pam and Jo Ann.

Best regards

Tom Hildebrandt

you can’t hardly say anything anymore without getting jumped on.

I am a frequent poster to this forum. I find that when I ask questions regarding an appraisal problem I have, folks on this forum rush to try to help. I have been helped many times by the kind folks on this forum. In additioan, I might add, help has come quickly. I have never felt that anyone was jumping on me. Maybe on a few occasions in the "Watercooler" some folks get a little too emotional but, overall I'd say this forum is pretty professional. I feel lucky to have it as a source and support. (Just my opinion)

Ditto about the large number of forums...takes a long time to go through all of them. Another name missing is Sinchad. I wonder if she is still appraising since she was not met warmly after 911.

Wayne, you have done a good job keeping this going over the years. I don't remember when I first posted but I remember being in the first 200 to sign the petition which is what brought me to the forum. Perhaps what we need is an "old timers" forum for just shooting the breeze.

Mike, the purpose is not to go through all of the forums! Just read those that interest you.

We have such a forum, it's called The Watercooler!

I loved the thread about the weird road names and the weird experiences everyone had....Sometimes I think there are just too many categories now. I never have time to read all of them.

The idea is to SAVE you time by having the separate forums and you can just read your area of interest. The old way you had to wade through pages of topics stacked on top on top of the other with no organization. And you had to click to read each individual reply. Here when you click a topic you get a whole page of replies ready to read!

I surely don't think anybody reads ALL the topics! I certainly don't.

Thanks for your support.

Hey Wayne...You're talking about the Forum I love up there!....not to be :D argumentatatatatative :D And please don't take it personally....Different strokes for different folks...You'll never change those of us who have formed our opinions...either those who like the old or the new way, or a little of both. The end result is, we enjoy the Forum or we wouldn't be here, and we know you've worked hard to make things better. Thank You for all of that!

And what ever happened to the guy who was so in love with his girlfriend, was a Trainee and had so many problems? Our hearts all went out to him. Wasn't there a car accident or something? Was it Chris? Who was that and where is he? Now I'm worried.... :(

Charlotte,

The trainee was Benjamen (Larry) Brosette. He used to post poems over on the Watercooler. The last I heard from him was when I responded to his cash equivalency problem over in the Newbie Forum so he's still around. I remember too that his girlfriend was in a car accident.
