Welcome, Jan!

You can ask all the questions you like.

You will usually get lots of responses but more so on the special newbie forum. The state forums are sort of new and don't have many posters, yet.

It's fun to see another Springfield area appraiser here. I hope you stick around.

Please feel welcome here.

I do not mind, I am not sure about the rules. If you want a larger audience you the questions, you might want to post in the Newbie forum.

is anyone working in a rural environment?
thanks
St Louis Metro Area. I used to wonder into mid state and southern Missouri, however rules for what is Residential keeps me away. You would almost have to be a Cert General, or working for one, to work rural environment. :fiddle:

Welcome,

I was born and raised in Cabool on 25 thousand acres, and my Ex is from Buffalo. Sister and her hubby are still there. It does not get more rural than that. Feel free to ask away.

Dang Hall,

That's a big spread for Missouri. Is it still intact?

Marcia, Yes it was.

It is not still one unit per say, it was broken into 500 acre tracts and given to all his kids and grand kids upon his death. I have a total of 19 aunts and uncles, my Father being the youngest. I can't tell you how many cousins I have. Unfortunately, there is a 100 year pur autre vie ( I think that is the term) on them.

My children's, children may sell it off but until then it just floats around so everybody can return and remember times and stories. There are several generations living on plats, lots of hunting, and grazing rights being passed around, but the Farm it's self is gone.

Wow, that is so interesting. It does not seem fair that he put that hundred year doohicky on it but that sure makes for an interesting family story.

When the hundred is up there will be some big money to be had.

Now, did I understand that the benefactor in question actually had nineteen children? The whole story sounds sort of biblical, LOL.

I assume there is a family historian that keeps the monster family tree up to date. Are any of your relatives writers? I think a story like that should be told.

My grand parents had 12 children naturally, the rest they adopted. (free farm hands) My Father is the baby of the family as in the last natural born.

Yes, the family history is recorded, charted, and published all the way back to medieval times. I can even show why my last name is spelled with an "e" instead of an "a".

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let everyone know how much I have learned over the past year reading this forum. As of yesterday I have completed all the required hours for my license and Friday I go to get fingerprinted. I know 2 years is still a newbie but for right now I still havent pulled all my hair out and am looking forward to learning something new everyday.

Hello, Angela,

And welcome to the forum.

What part of the state do you work in?
