Oh, and by the way, I would like to point out that not ALL appraisers automatically assume the worst in every situation. To say that appraisers typically make such negative assumptions is not anywhere the truth.

There are some of us who utilize all our thinking skills and observation skills not only in this profession but in life in general. There are some of us who continue to live our lives in a positive, upbeat manner knowing that only the strong survive.

This forum gets more and more downright negative every day. Every day there is some new post about low fees, (OMG, list the names of all appraisers who take low fees, get serious!!!) all the lousy AMCs (by people who claim they DO NOT work for any AMCs by the way, so how do they know), and how to rid this profession of the skippy's that only experienced appraisers across the country could have created - trainees only become trainees by working for a licensed appraiser.

The appraisal profession has had its share of bad apples from day one - otherwise the S&L collapse of the 80s would not have occurred. You folks who brag about being part of the profession for over 25 years should have cleaned up the rolls back then.

Each and every one of these forum folks became licensed somehow - and probably 50% of them trained somebody. Unfortunately, nobody can teach ethics and morals. There are problems with unethical and unmoral characters in every corner of the world, the best combat to this is to remain positive and continue to contribute to society with high ethics and morals. I do not think continuous bad mouthing of this profession is the way to higher ground.

I have made myself invisible on this forum as I do not want anyone who comes in here to peruse the posts to know I am here - I am ashamed of the attitudes and negative posts that continue on this forum.

There are a few folks who I do admire, who occasionally continue to post here, hence I continue to come in a review the forum. But most of the intelligent, unbiased contributors have left the forum due to the negatives.

And this is what will continue to happen not only on this forum but in this profession if the negative, name calling, appraiser bashing does not stop.
