Moving to Seattle

I've been seeing a steady increase in people moving out of Seattle (city limits) for years. Due to the current events and politics in the actual city this has been on the increase....which is good for me, as I live and work south of Seattle in suburban and rural markets. Business is great, fees are some of the highest in the nation, so overall it's a good market to be an appraiser!

When people move out of Seattle, do others move in to replace them? Or do the residences just sit vacant?

It seems as though a lot of people from out of the state/country are moving to Seattle since there is not a large vacancy (yet). My geographical competency for the city of Seattle has diminished, as I'm no longer "participating" in that specific market. I've appraised some nice houses in the neighborhood formally known as CHOP :ROFLMAO:

Since people are moving in to replace them, overall people are not "fleeing " these cities, am sick of the agenda dis information taken as fact.

My observations are based on working in the Seattle market for many years and related to residents moving out of the city to more affordable, less crowded areas...not a political mass exodus from Seattle.

Is it possible the older folks are deciding to leave the big city behind for peace and quiet,
and the younger ones are moving in because it's the happening place?

Per my friend that lives there and runs a development firm in Seattle, a lot of people are moving into Seattle from India and other Asian countries. He said a lot of locals are moving out either to cash out, priced out or politics. I don't think it is an agenda when someone points out that the locals are moving to the suburbs.

So our population is increasing nationwide. I don't have the numbers...but we all know that's essentially true. The 2020 Census will be very revealing. Birth Rates/size of families have decreased. One reason is; How do you raise a number of kids with Post Primary Education Cost Skyrocketing. Lots of people for years have left the Cold North East and go to Hot/Humid Florida for Retirement.

There is always movement for lots and lots of reasons. Casual Observation is many people moving to the Charlotte Region are from Pennsylvania. I see the PA Tags all the Time. Some that I have gotten to know have told me they left the Rural and Small City areas of PA simply because of Weather and more importantly the Loss of Jobs/manufacturing Industry. They came south for Job Security and better life. I don't see many NY Tags. I have a number of personal friends here from where I grew in the Southern Tier of NY. They all said it was about Jobs/opportunity and better climate. They also said Taxation was a Big issue because Local Taxes always go up, never down. Like I said they All are from Upstate NY. There is definitely a Difference between Up-State NY'rs and Down State Ny'rs. Most of it is Attitude.

When the 2020 Census comes out there will be some big Changes, So much so that Congressional(House) will change the balance of power.

Just my anecdotal Observations.

It's a great place as long as you agree with everyone but not a lot of room to think outside the box or have a good debate with. As far as agenda dis-information no Seattle is not a place anymore for anyone who does not go along with the ideological indoctrination that bears down on you. I spent quite a bit of time in Bellevue over the years and loved the City but I felt very oppressed by the peoples lack of diversity in both racial composition and lack of individual thinking and it was like everyone had all graduated from a cultural revolution indoctrination program. I was also taken back a little by the heavy use of recreation drugs and alcohol, which I figured was because of the long damp winters. Its a perfect place for New York City types or California Bay Folks , who pride them-self's on being artists and deep thinkers. Personally I want to stay out of three States my wife has family in and those are New York City-Seattle and Eugene Oregon. : ) LOL
