this may also be one of those locational differences i like to point out from time to time. here in AZ that drywall will be just fine for decades and decades. it may need doors in vermont but surely not required here.
I agree, however the client may not care about the difference. Drywall is not an exterior grade product regardless the climate. I have a similar issue here with unfinished cedar or hemlock siding. Very common, lasts for decades, market accepts it, local clients understand, but for out of state clients or HUD related work it becomes an issue.
