If the goal is to get all appraisers on the same page, it will likely force the older ones out completely. I can think of scores who will never be able to adapt at such a complete overhaul like this.

If the goal is to save borrowers money, this will probably cause fees to increase. This will take much longer and template crutches commonly used, won’t be as applicable anymore.
You might want to ask if appraisers will actually get more money. It appears to me it will force residential appraisers to give up the pen and pencil and go strictly with Bluetooth-enabled Disto linked to a mobile input app. And you best get a very good video recording device so that you can walk, talk and tap at the same time using the video as a backup for the inspection.

Software companies and McKissock and Appraisal Institue classes seem to benefit from this arcane tedious new form.
 
I bet the software companies hate it too - they have to rework their systems, spend time helping Appraisers, etc.
Appraisers need software companies and will pay higher fees for the help.
At this point, there's less need for updates to the current forms.

They love it because there going to new platforms in the near future and the end of buying software for $1,000 a year subscriptions.

There are really only a about 4 major players left and they are aware that it's got to change to survive. 2027 may be the biggest revolution we have seen on appraisal software and delivery systems.

Expect a $ fee for each report completed and delivered with volume discounts but low volume appraisers will pay a much higher % of their income. The semi retired or part timers may call it quits as E &O carriers are also going or are exempting many things from coverage and higher fees.

Discrimination and Racial coverage is gone except maybe $5k to $10k as is Protection against State Boards at $10k. Those amounts cover a few consultations and letters then your naked on your own.

Do the simple math. Read the provisions in the new E & O Policies. As to the software provider's there are only two that are selling 80% of the market. The third one employs less than 5 people and owned by a older gentleman whose let's say past retirement age.
