About a month ago I was sent my acceptance email to the VA panel for three parishes in my area. I registered with the portal and believe I am good to go. We have a couple bases in the area ,active and reserve, and a solid number of vets that reside here. I have not received an order as of yet. I was interested if any of you VA appraisers out there know how you are assigned orders. I know the first order you complete you have to send to the coordinator and the year long probationary period. I also sent my state manager an email but she also handles a couple other states so I know she is going to be a while before getting back to me. I appreciate your input.

Login to the portal and click "My Appraiser Workspace". What does it say for "Appraiser Status:" and "Appraiser Availability Status:" ?

Sounds good. Did you go through an orientation class of some sort? (telephone conference or the like)

negative....sent me a few PDFs, power points, report of guidelines, etc.....said I had to attend the area meetings that they have.

Generally your assignments will show up in your email but sometimes there is a glitch and an assignment appears in your Portal workspace and never does generate an email. So be sure to check occasionally. And welcome to the club. There are lots of very smart and helpful people here whenever you have questions.

Nice to have you part of the fraternity. Please do us all a favor. It's an assignment not an order. If you don't get one soon call the regional office and ask why.

I just heard back from my regional office and the person was out when I was added and never put me in. I should be receiving assignments shortly. I appreciate your responses.

Out of curiosity, update us when you do receive your first assignment and how many they send over at once for your initial time.

will do....she did say I have to send my first 3 directly to her and not through the portal for review.
