will do....she did say I have to send my first 3 directly to her and not through the portal for review.

I didn't have to do that. I had to take one of my other appraisal reports and make it look like a VA report for their review.

Welcome to the club.

What kind of fee do you get for VA work down there?

Yeah, the first 3 reports get field reviewed. That is probably why she wanted them sent directly to her first.

About a month ago I was sent my acceptance email to the VA panel for three parishes in my area. I registered with the portal and believe I am good to go. We have a couple bases in the area ,active and reserve, and a solid number of vets that reside here. I have not received an order as of yet. I was interested if any of you VA appraisers out there know how you are assigned orders. I know the first order you complete you have to send to the coordinator and the year long probationary period. I also sent my state manager an email but she also handles a couple other states so I know she is going to be a while before getting back to me. I appreciate your input.

Welcome to the VA Fee Panel. Lot's of folks here to assist if you need info or a heads up. I have been n the VA Fee Panel since January 1992. Mike and a few others may have been on the panel longer.

Small world. Last evening I had a Cox Cable technical assist from a young lady located in New Orleans.:) My last visit there was in 2005. Great food.

Just received my first assignment. Its is a LGI-liquation. Hopefully this is the beginning of some consistent work. On a side note there is no contact info on the 1805.

LGI indicates this is a liquidation assignment. Note that the turn time is much shorter and listings are required. Most likely there isn't a contract; however, there could be as a short sale. Check with the lender.

Thanks! I sent the point of contact for the lender an email and left a voicemail regarding the issue.

And read your handbook about specific instructions like you must make 3 attempts to inspect the property and you must knock on the door and you must tape a letter requesting entry to the front door. The sample letter was included in my handbook. and after you have failed at all attempts you may prepare an exterior only appraisal. but search for a recent thread in here about how you may not just switch to exterior only because the lender says 'oh just do an exterior'. and be sure to check MLS - i often gain access because of a realtor or a listing.

Yeah I saw that....that will be a first for me!.....just showing up to say I'm there for the appraisal ,unexpected, for your defaulted loan

Well it's really not so bad. And, its not unexpected. They have lots of correspondence from the lender. They usually have a letter saying here is the name and phone number of the appraiser who will be contacting you or you can contact them directly. and they often want to explain what happened to cause this catastrophe. they are usually not just deadbeats who decided to quit making their house payments. remember they are all veterans or their family members. i've had them say - yes i was expecting you - come on in. and if they do talk to me i also tell them it is their choice - they do not have to grant me access. but i have never had any bad situations in the process.
