Outlook Vs. Outlook Express

Oh, oh, oh!

Now I get it, I think. As in say, several folks using one computer, but only being able to check their own email?

Mine comes to my inbox ... if you want to put e-mails from each account into a specific folder it is possible to do ... when setting up your account in Outlook, tell it where to put your incoming mail for that account ..... Make sure you set your folders up before you start .....

If that is the case Dan .... then under XP, each person would need to log-in .....

Why not Tools/Send-Receive/account1 or account2 etc?

That will work, but it will still come to the inbox unless you tell it otherwise ..... The way I have it set up ... I can check a specific account or I can check them all ...

I feel like I've hijacked Scott's thread, I'm headed to the Chat Room.

another day we will figure out the folders shtick.

If anyone needs help with Outlook, I provided support for the application, along with all of Micro$ofts office and windows products when I worked at IBM.

Outlook will let you receive your different accounts to different areas. The way I do it is have it all come to one inbox and then use the 'rules' to have them seperate out to different folders for each account.

Can you elaborate on the "rules"?
Thanks, Moe

Moe:

use the 'organize' button in your toolbar
Using Folders is the first option.
Second bullet is "create a rule"
the default is move messages from "user" to 'Folder'
Mine is set to do THIS:
() Create a rule to move new messages from into Appraiser Forum so ALL notifications from appraisers forum are delivered into a folder I cleverly named 'appraisers forum'

All my family mmeebrs messages go in one marked "Family"
Certain friends and aquantainces go into (guess) "Friends"

but you can also change it to something like this:
()Create a rule to move all messages sent to (_person address like 'Moe'_) into "Moe's incoming"

Assuming you have a spouse or SO you can also do ()Create a rule to move all messages sent to (_person address like 'Moe's SO_) into "Moe's SO incoming"

OR
()Create a rule to move all messages sent to (_address like 'Moe'work addy_) into "Moe's WORK incoming "

What _I_ am still attempting to find is the trigger that lets la machine respond FROM the address an incoming e-mail was addressed to... eg I get some incoming from local MLS addressed to my-work-address the default return address that shows is my-work-address... but when i get incoming to my personal addy fro some reason it now goes back out as my-work-address :( Once upon a time I had it tweaked to run right. but not since I went on vaca and shut off my personal pick-ups so I could retreive them remotely from the ISP yet work woudl still get the 'incoming'... It's never been the same since.
