The real Question :? Is if PAREA was disbanded tomorrow how would it change the appraisal world or other appraisers lifes ? Awnser: It would have no effect on anyone's career or business.

I suspect the “not a hill to die on” crowd arent good enough fighters to fight to the death on any hill.
It's been my experience those folks are usually the ones most equipped to fight - they just have the control to pick their battles.

Let me know when they pick one. Just in the last 10 years we've had realtors take our work with expanded use of bpos, AMC's completely take over 90% of your clients, waivers taking work from you, hybrids taking work from you, bringing people off the street to do the appraisal inspection and taking money away from you. And now parea making it that you can take a youtube class and walk away with a certification instead of earning it and paying your dues like we all did. What else am I missing?

I suggest they pick a fight soon, before the fight is over. Maybe they are all elderly and don't care anymore. I really don't know why they like being marginalized like they have been.

I do agree that AI may never recover the supposed millions they spent on a parea program that we still haven't seen anything about. I have no idea who would get into this profession for free, let alone have to pay a few grand for a course.

Its the Major Money Center Banks and others who are behind this because the plan is to eliminate Loan Production Appraisals as we have known them to be done. Its about faster-cheaper and a low BAR like becoming a Realtor. This has been in the works for many years but it took time to get it together. There is nothing AI -ASA -AF nobody can do to stop it. the train has left the station :)

AO 16...sellouts :rof:

and CU was just a risk review tool...anyways hip hip hooray CRN :rof:
:rof: :rof:
We all knew CU was to capture eventionally almost every property in America and to develop a massive data base to be used without traditional Appraisals. It takes time for the technology to advance to the point where this can happen. It appears we are in about a 5 year window before this is fully implemented.

yeah sure big data works...like how it predicted hillary in 16 and trump in 20. good luck appraising in east cleveland its not very complex :rof:

Lots of areas are mostly cookie cutter Suburbs and tract homes and anyone can learn to do them. The Rural and Complex Appraiser will be around for a long time but one problem is those take a lot of time and work and im not sure the market will pay for it .
