I'd love to join in in a round table group of peers.

Isn't Mt. Pleasant the most central place in the state? Although Lansing isn't that far, I think we may even get northerners if we choose a central meeting place.

I am all for peer review, but let's not jump too fast. First, let's get to know one another. I have another appraiser I have done peer review with - it is interesting to see another's work.

Let's pick a topic for the first meeting - something everday - and not too complex - and everbody bring their opinions and views to the table.

Gas prices - no not appraisal related in the short term.
AMC's - no, too controversial
Not measuring, we should all be familiar with measuring. Neighborhood - do you describe the boundary of the subject or the entire market area? And what is your reasoning.

Now, that is one I see on reviews all the time, neighborhood description encompasses the subject only.

To FHA or not to FHA.

Or, pick a USPAP STandard and discuss its impact on development or reporting and how we incorporate it.

I think the peer review stuff can be optional for those who want to participate...for now. But I think Lansing is a great location.

Well im a little late on this forum, but i would love to get "beat up" for the betterment of the profession. I could always enjoy hearing on ways to improve my reporting style...

when do we do this?

I'm generally always extrenely busy, so someone start throwing some dates out there. The only day that is bad is any day this week, next Thursday...

My ability for meaningful contribution is limited, so I'll be there on the learning side of the table, so to speak. But, for the record, week days in the A.M. (except Tuesdays) are best for me. Time isn't important. As far as location, I'm 10 minutes from the cross roads of I-96 and US 23 (Near Brighton) For Tim, that's about an hour north of you.

Count me in!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will make myself available. Just keep me posted.

Usually (for me anyways) the first few days after a holiday are fairly slow - Memorial Day is comming up soon...
I like the Lansing location too - but where would we meet?
Just a thought I had, Holloways Institute isn't far off I-96, and they have 4 or 5 classrooms, if I remember correctly.

I'm late to the tea party, haven't spent too much time on the forum lately. But, I would be interested too and Lansing sounds fair. I like the idea of the inital meet and greet first before formal interrogation (peer review).

But do they serve beer there?
