Placement on FHA Roster

Slightly tangent topic:

Last cycle when we updated our FHA status we faxed our renewed license to them. Is that still the procedure? And does anyone happen to have that fax number?

They now have a website setup for renewals and updating your info. It's the FHA Connection. You have to request a User ID. and you get it in 24hrs.

Enjoy :clapping:

I applied via snail mail in late Feb and have been on for about a month. Of course, time frames are generally long for the masses. I would be in contact with them if they are not accepting you within their perceived time frame.

It still has a bug or two in the system. I keep getting emails telling me to log in and update my license since the expiration is listed as 6/30/2008. I have renewed my license and the ASC web site has the renewal information, but when I've tried to update the HUD site it won't let me enter the correct expiration date. It gives an erroneous error message saying the date cannot exceed the expiration date on the ASC site.

I'm just not going to worry about it until the first of July. :rof:

Perhaps we should be offering bribes to the officials?...that's the way it's done in third-world countries, and America seems to be becoming one...

Only third world countries? Heck, what a dope I am, I was under the impression it was done that way in ALL of them!

;^)

Dave...

I too submitted an application during the first week of March and have not heard anything either. I sent an email and received a canned email back. Their email also included a phone number if one had further questions (202) 402-2041. I called that but you are forced to leave a message. I'm going to wait another week and then reapply on line as I suspect my application fell through the cracks.

My friend sent in her app late Feb., early March and was just placed on the roster this past Thursday.

There is still hope!!

I sent my application in electronically, but didn't realize my scanner did not scan all three pages into one document. I didn't realize it until after I had already submitted the information. I got a hold of someone that told me to fax my information in mentioning that she had recommended me to do so.

About 1.5 - 2 weeks later I received a letter saying my application had been denied due to incomplete paperwork. I tried calling that number on the letter to inquire if they had indeed received my paper application and if the letter was in reference to my electronic application.

Someone called me back and told me that they didn't know and I should call this number. I called that number, and they referred me back to the previous number. It appears that no one knows anything, and I have tried desperately to find an answer, but keep getting the run around. I tried resubmitting my application electronically since that's what the letter told me to do, however when I click submit it says that my application can not be accepted at this time because a duplicate application is in the review process.

I give up. I guess I'll just wait the 3 or 4 months, and if I'm not on the roster, try reapplying electronically again.

Did I mention that I got my approval within 48 hrs??:new_2gunsfiring_v1:

Patience folks. The FHA is undersatffed, likely under paid, and like any good civil service employees, have to work in all this stuff in between the morning coffe break, the lunch break, and the afternoon break. Maybe they are like a guy that use to work with me in the USN. Every friday his desk was clear of work, and every monday it was loaded up again. Come to find out he was putting all his work in the guard mail(hand delivered local base mail) on friday, and getting it back on monday.:rof:

Besides, it takes a long time to process 100,000+- applications. The question now is not who is on the roster but who is not.:)
