Racial Bias Claims Without Proof or Logic

Of course racism exists the problem is its universal even worldwide and always has been. Being located in a melting pot we have whites, blacks, Latinos, and another hundred different ethnicity, in SO CA. The problem is the current mind set is only whites are prejudiced or racists when in reality every ethnic group has some form of racial bias against another group or groups. So "systemic racism " is apparently in the DNA of humans BUT one thing I have found is that when it comes to business, collecting green is all that matters and an-appraiser or Realtor will NOT bring his/her bias into the equation.

That's essentially what Critical Race Theory is trying to claim. Since we are the Predominate Race...blah blah The Intellectuals have been arguing this since the early 70's.

It kind of falls apart when you see millions of White People barely keeping their nose above water.

Reminds me of AF members who continually post angry sounding comments about AMCs/reviewers/underwriters/real estate agent's/competing appraisers/USPAP/CU/Critical Appraiser Theory/etc....

If as an appraiser you are doing your job, the comps are from the same neighborhood as the subject property. Yes... I know... sometimes that isn't possible.. but in that case you have support in your work file for your conclusions about differences, if any, between the comparables and the subject.... including neighborhood.

I really don't think that is correct in many markets. The assumption that certain "white" populations are not diverse within themselves is to assume skin color dictates that domination...which is racist itself. So you have the Irish Molly McGuires, Italian Carbonari, Sicilian Mafiosos, Free Masons, Jewish Murder, Inc., or even the Menace of Destruction (Hmong) - never mind the hundred or so biker gangs... Everyone is a minority and a thug.

To get back to the Topic of the Thread! We as appraisers can not change anything and we must resist any attempts to make us change, because if we do, all objectivity will begin to erode in our work.

The picture or mosaic that is being created is actually a collage. They are throwing anything and everything they can into the collage to support the broader accusation.

I have some real issues with this article below (August 27, 2014). I don't completely reject it, but they are making some assertions that simply are not true.
