I always slip mine off, if asked to do so.

Part-time appraisers who are farmers are asked to remove their shoes due to the manure on the outside of them. On the other hand, part-time appraisers who are cowboys are asked to leave their shoes on because the manure is on the inside of the boots.
I inspect most houses on short, stainless steel, self-disenfecting stilts. I don't want other folks' diseases. A friend of mine inspects in a silver, bio-hazzard suit.

Will be glad to remove the shoes, but you must realize that should I slip; fall; damage the foot or feet, while in your dwelling I will have to recieve "just compensation" while I'm out of work and you will become liable :!:

Never take off your shoes; sneekers; golf shoes; whatever you where, your giving into a "control" tatic. If they can get you to take off your shoes, maybe they can get you to increase your value; jump thru hoops in the backyard; sweep their stairs; wax their car; cut their grass; etc.-where does it end :?: Right here-DON'T take off your shoes; how do we know you won't take off anything else :?:

Your right I just did a 6,000 square foot home in River Forest owned by a Japanese couple. It is considered very disrespectful to wear shoes in the house.

In Japan that might be true, but to join the melting pot, you need to adopt new customs, otherwise it's not a melting pot, it's just a series of enclaves.

In Arabia, they require all women to wear the burka, even female American military. They want us to adhere to their customs. Yet when they come over here, they sue the government, if they have to remove their burka, for a driving license photo. They don't care to adhere to our custom of identifying who is driving around our country. It's strange how customs only work for small countries.

I consider it disrespectful that they won't go by our rules when they want access to this country. When I'm in their country I will go by their rules, and when they are in our country I expect they go by our rules.
