Remember the old commercial about ESPN University in which Chris Berman cautioned his class that . . . "there is no such thing as a stupid question...only stupid people who ask questions."

Excellent analogy of the truth defined on this forum by the masses. Rep for that one.

Edit: Common sense rules this forum. It will continue to rule, as time moves forward.

Hey Truckboy - in your neck of the woods, it's "fer", not for. :rof:

What a heartwarming thread and a nice break from the usual venomous exchanges in here. For the first time in my adult lifetime,
I am really proud of my forum.

UtOh, wez got to be careful when RE brokers start to complement depraizers. :)

Like it or not, this IS a community here, and if you come charging in telling people how they should be, it's not going to go over well. Many people have been on this forum for years, and people here support each other. I had the privilege of meeting some of them when I crossed the country - people I'd never met before opened up their homes to me for a night or two just because they knew me from this forum.

This is a great bunch of people, worth getting to know. If you can't be bothered with that, and just want service, you can't blame them for getting ticked off when a Newbie shows up with attitude. It's kinda like party crashing.

Smokey,

Read your response. One of your sentences states that "many people have been on this forum for years, and people here support each other". This is exactly why I use this site is the "support" it has given me. If Patti has a problem with "newbies" asking the same questions over and over then she should find a new site to "BS" in or I should fine a new site. Honestly I didn't like the tone in which I read, therefore my response. I didn't know this site had "forum police". And yes I have read the same question from different users numerous times. If it gets old to you to read the same questions then don't read them.

"A newbie shows up with attitude"? I appears to me that Patti has the attitude and that changed mine.

"It's a great bunch of people, worth getting to know". It doesn't appear from Patti that there is room for newbies.

Thanks for making the new forum participants feel welcome.

Signed,
last time user....thanks... no, one last post on the main page.

Thin skinned? People come, people go...sorry you feel we owe you something. Ya'll come back..hear!

Forum, not necessarily community.

I get the answers I need here. Usually from a Jackass. This is a forum, which means it is a forum for jackasses too.

It isn't a club, or a community where you have standards for entry. Not everyone here is nice. Seemingly not everyone here is welcome.

tough crap. Get over it, the both of ya.

I don't know which is worse.

The newbie whining about his feelings, or the jackass complaining about the newbie. At this point I have been both, and frankly, all of you bug me to death. I assume the feeling is mutual. (a single tear rolls down my cheek)

Or is it the guy complaining about both of them.

Quadruple sheesh, just grow up for heaven's sake. We don't elect a prom queen/king. Wayne picks the moderators -- and what a suck job that must be.

Patti is merely stating that instead of coming here and saying, "Hey, how do I get on the FHA list?" or I've been in the biz for 3 years but I've never filled out an income statement.

Do a little research on your own first.

You can learn alittle or a lot here.

TC
