:rof:Been right all along--your lack of self-awareness is crippling your limited thought process.

I don't always get labeled as "lack of self-awareness - crippling your limited thought process"
But when I do, it's because they lost the argument.

I totally nailed it with the lack of self-awareness observation. Thanks for supporting me on that observation!

Sometimes they'll repeat it...which means they're sore about losing.

:rof:heaping on the evidence. But feel free to have the last word Mr. Unaware!

And if they rePete it again....they're totally lost in denial.

At 35 Years old I'll triple gladly forgo SSI if I can stop paying into it today.

The money I put in, take it. I don't want any part of it.

Said a wishful thinker.

If SSI wasn't an illegal Ponzi then I would have this option, but I don't. I don't because that's a recipe for Ponzi's to collapse.

OK - let's try to wander off in a different direction. Like this one, with no criticism to the OP. Sure we could have "allowed" people to set up their own accounts but how many would have??? Probably not enough. And i love that part about 'public education'. Again, it's hard to educate the public. When you tell them to save for retirement lots of them won't. Like when you tell them not to drink and drive - lot's of them will. When you tell them not to take extra pills and lie to their doctor and develop an opioid addiction. Well how's that public education plan working...

So it is superior to force the public to pay SS taxes, and then have the politicians steal those funds to buy votes, leaving nothing left for the intended purpose? No sale. The reason many do not save on their own for retirement is because they were wrongly educated that SS payments will take care of them. If everyone knew it was on them, and if finances were taught in schools, many would do the right thing. People do set up IRA's, 401, 403 plans, etc. I believe people are smart enough to conduct their own lives without the nanny government taking away their freedom because the bureaucrats know better, no thanks.

I became a residential appraiser due to my years as a Big Bank Mgr. Daily and I mean daily people came in to speak to me as the local Branch Manager. My intent was always to educate those who were in imo in a spiral of financial doom. I worked hard to save their pennies and educate but.....year after year I saw their credit card debt increase. I practiced what I preached and still had to file bankruptcy after breast cancer loss of ability to work and insurance debt.
