Speeding up the process of weight loss

FYI Ray, has anyone suggested you should focus on your percentage of body fat vs. weight? That may be a better indicator of health.

Also, I can easily follow a low-carb diet if I have the following on hand:

1. Sugar-free Fudgesicles
2. Sugar-free ice cream
3. Turkey bacon
4. Good coffee

And, of course, after Phase I or whatever, I like to drink my carbs with dinner. LOL!!!

Stick with it! You'll feel great.

Careful on those artificial sweeteners, there are quite a few ways that they have a severe negative impact on your overall health. Probably be better off with real sugar and deal with the calories they contain.

That tuna regimen sounds like an old Dave Draper diet!

That's exactly where I got the idea and it really works as a quick way to drop some fat and reenergize your body and mind. As I am a real bodybuilding fanatic who will be turning 42 this summer Draper is a great inspiration for people over 40 who wish to continue training hard.

Status Update:

Doc was happy with me last week. Blood Pressure 72/127

Drop 9 inches off my waist, from a 54+ to a 46 in. Down three shirt sizes now.

0500 hours to 08:30 hours: Up to 3 hours a day in the gym, six days a week, 30 min. on the stair master and 15/20 min. on the carido bike, have triple my weigth on the weights, three set each, one day lower body, next day upper body, one full hour in pool each day, leg press up to 250# now.

Then the wife and I try and hike or snow shoe an hour or more every other day in the evening over hill and dale.

I have not felt this good in years.woohoo

ps: notice the wife found the "Bull Ring" she gave me 15 years ago, as a hint I should not be looking at the tight rear end of those young barrel racers. Haven't a clue why she laid it out on my reading table this week.

How are the rest of you doing?????

How are the rest of you doing?????

Well, I am walking nearly every day. Only up to 6-8 blocks before either the legs give me trouble or my breathing starts to become too labored (asthma) but that is largely dependent on the weather and where I am. Around here there are too many coal power plants, diesel trucks, gas furnaces and cars all creating exhaust fumes such that my asthma hits me harder, whereas despite my allergy to oak trees (leaf mold) I generally can walk miles up north during deer season ... a struggle, but hey, that is what inhalers are for ;) (I notice I can walk 2x-10x as far there before breathing gets too hard ... but for the hills it would be even further). Haven't lost any size yet, nor any weight, but sometimes that takes time and may start to occur as I am able to increase the distances and frequency of walks.

Just weighed myself ... either I am exactly where I was last time my nephews were visiting (before the holidays) or I lost 5 pounds. Given my mass and asthma maintaining over winter isn't the worst result in the world!
