Standardized Property Measuring Guidelines

It wasn't long ago that the AF peanut gallery was arguing against bifurcation/hybrids because appraisers were the trained experts in field work. Man, how things have changed.

idk what this means

idk what this means
A large part of fieldwork is measuring a dwelling, all of the drama here and on other social media platforms about a very simple standard is proof that we aren’t the experts we thought we were.

The ANSI standard and "floorplan" push is setting the stage for the CubiCasa, True Footage, etc. tech being pushed. So don't worry, it won't be long before appraisers are walking through a house and the app is doing all of the measuring to the ANSI standard, easy-peasy.

Not to mention creates a new data point for surveillance. Filling in the gaps between IOT devices

Old article, but doubt things have improved-

if the standard is so easy and simple, why did it take the gse's 25 years to adopt? i mean see limiting conditions.

Because no one really pushed, until now.

Here's the app being promoted to appraisers by one of the largest AMCs in the country. May as well watch and learn.

the video shows interior measurements. meaningless

when the realtors and brokers and home owners find out what was, is not, then they will understand.

So meaningless that the #1 user of our services has set a standard for its use.

Understand what? They didn't storm the castle for us (like many appraisers thought) when they "found out" AMCs were ripping everyone off with fees. Anyway, good luck with that.

So what does ANSI solve?

Inaccurate Measuring?

LOL. If an appraiser can't measure to the nearest 1/2 or Foot, he can all in sudden measure to the nearest 1/10th foot? (Defies logic)

here non. a solution that cannot fix the problem. typical thought process for quasi gov agencies. sure, parea will teach them how. :rof:
