what is the the point of being a licensed appraiser instead of a certified ?

Licensed appraisers can appraise SFR up to $1 mil and multifamily up to 4 units up to $250k.

Certified residential can do SFR or multifamily 1-4 with no upper value limits.

In this day of licensure .. not much.

Oh .. except the fees for renewal are higher typically for certified.

Thanx rp. Our reciprocity agreement with SD (dated Nov/95) only recognizes the cert general category. This is one of the several misteries I'm trying to understand & suggest solutions.
