I think they automatically revoke if you fail to respond to an audit request, etc.
If the appraiser hasn't responded to the audit request and doesn't show up in court, the license will be revoked.
It never ceases to amaze me that so many appraisers get revoked (in NY, anyway) for so little. It's my understanding that if one admits a shortfall in continuing ed credits, one gets a slap on the wrist and a chance to catch up on it. To ask an obvious question, isn't that preferable to a revocation?
NY has been auditing the CE of 100% of RE appraisers for a few years now. Other states don't, so NY should have a higher number of revocations.
